Have you measured them lately? They look pretty good sized. Nice seeing something different. Good looking female!!

I wouldn't use that much calcium w/d3. I use calcium without 3 times weekly, hertivite twice monthly and calcium wd3 once a month. Everyone has their own schedules but I think all would agree your dusting too much w d3

The problem is, you don't know where their coming from. They could be wild caught or captive. Look up Puritania on the member list. She's a breeder in Canada and has baby veiled right now. They ship them overnight. Do what you want but there is no way I would purchase from a pet store due to my...

Sounding a little elitist Dean!

Would really suggest to not purchase a chameleon from a pet store. Your more likely to get a much healthier animal at about the same price by ordering one from the more reputable breeders online. Pet stores generally do not know or care to properly take care of them. Highly recommend a male as...

Ditto, afh...works every time

I'm voting female but Dean P probably has more exp. than most of us. Good luck, sure is tiny. Is this your first?

You need to kill that thing before the dog comes up missing!

Ditto dodolah, Most of mine will head to their sleeping spot about an hour before sundown, remain awake at their spot and then go to sleep after sundown. I also follow natural sunlight. If you've just had him a week, he may not be used to the time difference yet.

Dodolah brings up a good point, need to check if the catalpa tree itself is safe. Thanks dodolah!

I also think it would be safe if they can digest them. The reason they are so popular in the south is because they are very tough and you can catch several fish on a single worm. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try and see if it comes out whole or digested. Thanks for the input. David

I was wondering the same thing as I also have a Catalpa tree. Having used them for fishing in the past I would say no just because of how tough they are. You can catch several fish on a single worm. Their skin is like leather. I don't know if they are safe or poisionous if they could eat them.

Thanks for the input but I'm building my own that will look more like a piece of furniture so I'm trying to buy the screen only. Looks like I may have to pay the high price to get it. Thanks again. David

Does anyone keep this locale or know of anyone breeding them? Think their also calle St. Marie. Very unique looking locale and have never heard anyone mention them. Just curious.

Would like to hear from anyone using 1/4 or 1/8" mesh for their cage. Having a difficult time finding what I really want so I may have to go with the larger size. If your using 1/4, how is it working out as far as feeders go? Thanks for any input. David

Did the rat have a really curly tail? Sorry, couldn't help myself. I really doubt a hawk got him. Chams are the way they are just for this reason. You may not get him back, but I bet he's out there. Good luck and I hope you find him.

Wouldn't the feeders get stuck between the inner and outer screens? Maybe I'm not understanding what you have in mind? I've found the perfect stuff at several sources online but it would cost at least $150 per cage just for the screen. Got to be another source for something similiar at a...

I like the stuff nicodemayo has in her pic but I need something that has smaller openings as I free range lots of different stuff. I'm checking online now with some of the different manufacturers. I'll post if I find anything

It's epoxy powder coat fininshed metal. If I'm reading it correctly anyway. They have all types. I imagine this is so expensive because of the coating, it's sprayed on as a powder and then baked to form a porcelin type finish.

Well I found what we're looking for. This is 1/8" black coated mesh. Problem is the price. Way more than I am willing to pay. I've found many sources by googleing plastic coated hardware cloth. Hopefully we can find a cheaper version. This is $75 for 36" by 10 foot...
