My Chameleon Says It’s Their Turn to Shine

Yes, you want warm dry days (ideal humidity range 30-50%) and cool humid nights. It simulates a way of natural hydration like they would get in the wild. If you aren’t able to achieve a cool enough temp at night, it’s ok not to fog. It sounds like Fridolyn is going to have the best life with you. 💗

I’ve got to ask…so does that mean that the eggs were successfully fertilized?

My Chameleon Says It’s Their Turn to Shine

Hi and welcome to you and Fridolyn. So very glad to meet you. 🙂 Fridolyn is a very beautiful and healthy looking young man. Your humidity level at 43% is perfect. Regarding using a humidifier or fogger, this is done at night but only if your temps are below at least 21c. I do notice that the...

    PANTHER CHAMELON BREEDING

Hi. 🙂 Never having bred any chameleons, I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to your question. However, I would think it would probably be a matter of a couple or few weeks. From some videos I’ve seen, the females do seem to flash gravid coloration to males not long after mating. Gravid...

My chameleon died sadly, anyone think they could give me a husbandry review so I don't make the same mistake next time?

Because of the growth of mold and that you found a poo, I’m going to advise that you do a lot of work which is a total pain in the butt…take down completely your current bioactive, sanitize the enclosure fully before redoing. Once all is sanitized, you can redo, but I’d like to guide you in a...

    Puffy eyes

Yay! 🥳 Wormy feeders are always well loved by even the pickiest of eaters. Silkworms are terrific staple feeders with nutritional content close or equal to roaches (as I was told by a chameleon vet/breeder) plus good for hydration too.

My chameleon died sadly, anyone think they could give me a husbandry review so I don't make the same mistake next time?

While dehydration may have played a large role in your girl’s passing, I’m unconvinced that it was the sole reason. There had to have been something else going on…maybe biological defect. Without having had a full necropsy, the question will go unanswered. So, to provide the very best start for...

My chameleon died sadly, anyone think they could give me a husbandry review so I don't make the same mistake next time?

While it’s near impossible for me or even you to have 100% of the details, based on what you’ve said, I don’t really see anything jumping out at me which would prove fatal in just a period of a couple of weeks. The biggest areas I see that could potentially contribute are: hydration - was she...

My chameleon died sadly, anyone think they could give me a husbandry review so I don't make the same mistake next time?

My feedback will be in bold. - 36 x 24 x 18, glass cage on all sides except for top and one of the smaller sides. The smaller side - I assume is screened, but is it the entire side or just a small part of it? - humidity was 90% during the night and I believe would go down to 30% during the day...

I’m so sorry that your little lady passed away. I’ll go thru your husbandry, but I do have some questions. Do you have any photos of her in her last days? How old was she? Had you ever taken her to a vet or had done any fecal testing for parasites?

    Supplement schedule confusion

Hi and welcome! I’m not going to say what your breeder is doing is wrong, as I have no idea of their total husbandry practices. I will advise that if you are using the correct uvb (linear T5 with either Arcadia 6% or ReptiSun 5.0) at the correct distance from basking area (approx 21 cm), you...

Is this normal young panther chameleon behavior?

That is too funny! They do see other wavelengths than we can see, so maybe he sees something more interesting than just a textured wall. * It is a nicely done textured wall/paint job. Both of my bearded dragons head straight for the textured wall behind my bed when I put them on it. They...

    Puffy eyes

How many are there? They are fairly easy to catch. It just takes slow movements and patience. They don’t bite or sting. I’m not so sure if you need to worry about them breeding unless you’ve got a lot of them. If left alone, they will die within just a few days without intervention.
