I agree with @Gloriawood raise the heat lamp. You can prop it up on coffee cups or lower the basking branch. Babies love to climb on the screen. They can get thermal burns from the heat lamp. Most often the burns are on the casque or spine.

I have it in a dome that has the reflector and run it on a herpstat. Have had wonderful success with it the last 6 years. No issue of thermal burns and it pulls the exact temps I have the herpstat set for.
