    Feeding cups!

...Nah but seriously i put some food in the feeder also so when they do warm up , they are more inclined to Stay there for a bit , personally the only feeder I would free range is my locusts ( other than black soldier flies and hopefully silkmoths) to add enrichment and natural hunting and exercise

...with ReptiSun 10.0 or Arcadia 12% or 14% (I use the 14% for mine), pretty strong basking light, hides and basking platforms plus decor for enrichment. I’ve spent as much on setting up my beardies as I have my chameleons. I recall hearing very recently (can’t recall where) that beardies are...

Veiled Chameleon showing signs of lethargy

...I prefer to feed smaller feeders just for my animals comfort in swallowing. Plus, giving more of smaller feeders is a nice little bit of enrichment imho and easier to give a bit of variety in a single feeding. Getting called away right now. Just wanted to add a bit more to the excellent...

How long for BSFL turn to fly after being in the black stage

I actually do that intentionally. I buy a lot of BSFL when I order my bugs because they are good little worm feeders but then if you don't feed them all they go black and hard and in 2 weeks or so you have flies that are fun enriching bugs to feed your chameleon. I also do this with my wax...

    Is this considered stressful?

...down on his own. This is my signal to offer him a helping hand to go back to his still open cage where he catches the last few minutes of sunlight before eventually retreating back into his cage. In my eyes this is enrichment for the chameleon but I could be wrong and be stressing him out.

I have springtails, still need isopods, they should be arriving this weekend. But leaf litter on top, yes! Quick question, can I add some BSFL in the substrate as CUC? Would they be beneficial in any way other than enrichment when they turn to flies?

    Climbing plants???

Good to know about the feeder. I usually flick a mixture of crickets, dubias and some bean beetles (dusted with vitamins) into the cage. Her poops look good (pretty big for such a small lady actually) so I trust she’s finding her food. I tried putting a plain feeding dish in her enclosure once...

    No shed yet??

Thank you! He hasn’t eaten BSFL, but I am wanting to try hand feeding them for him, since he tends to like that more anyway. He hasn’t loved cup feeding, though he has done it. I’ve been trying all sorts of different feeders and such for him, but he mainly likes hand feeding. I’m working on...

    No shed yet??

...(BSFL), they're GREAT! Full of calcium and good nutrients, and my guy LOVES them. If you let them pupate into flies, they're really good enrichment for your cham too. Offer tons of food for your guy and let him eat as much as he wants. I haven't gone through the whole thread - are you cup...

Help, my yemen chameleon keeps hissing at night

I'll try it give him a few less bugs and see how he does with them. For the bugs I give the gels (i was told they were good by someone from the pet shop) but I dont know if they are. I'll be sure to feed them some other things that are on the list. The Supplement without d3 Is calcium and the...

How long for BSFL turn to fly after being in the black stage

Dubiaroaches.com sells little sifters for a couple bucks. It saves me so much time when separating out the bugs from the substrate.

Sure you can... They will just dig down and munch stuff until they pupate. Just make sure you have a good layer of leaf litter. Veileds are little brats if they see movement they are going to go try to eat it. Kinda like a toddler as in everything with them goes in the mouth. lol

I got a cool little sifter when I ordered from Smyton one time… but really it’s just a colander you could probably get at the dollar store ☺️

Ah ok so I’ll toss em back into the container until they hatch. How long does that process normally take from once they turn black and hard?

So my mom doesn’t really plan on handling the pet much, and that we don’t have over 1000 to spend on a bearded dragon enclosure. Do you know any good resources on leopard geckos and other geckos like that?

Veiled Chameleon showing signs of lethargy

I already posted pictures of the supplements, it is calcium without d3 at every feeding and reptivite calcium with d3 and vitamins twice a month. By the look of the bulb it’s a 1 inch wide I’ll take it out again once her lights are out they go out in 30 minutes. I do feed hornworms as treats...
