Three things about Antwan that worry me…

Hi. Antwan looks good and I love his enclosure. Was there maybe something that spooked him before he stayed in his sleep spot? One of my boys will come running as soon as he sees me open his door…usually. Often it’s difficult to put his bugs in his feeding station because he’s climbed on my...

Three things about Antwan that worry me…

Thanks! Well this is good to know as everything I have read and listened to makes it seem like there is something wrong with his enclosure, otherwise he wouldn't be wanting to come out to me. I can take him anywhere in the house or out of the house and he stays on my head or shoulders. He...

    Help with husbandry questions

She should be attracted to the linear UVB's light source, as it is "the sun" to her. If your ambient temp is too high for the recommended, doing what it takes to cool down the room isn't a bad idea. Monitoring the temps and humidies will really determine how necessary it is. I'm not versed in...

    Need some feedback

That is the number one reason why I put him in a DS enclsoure. My boy has lost 5 claws from screen climbing. I hate it!

Veiled Chameleon restless behavior/screenclimbing towards UVB strip

My guy screen climbs although his setup is in perfect condition, he’s done it since he was a baby. If he can’t burn himself with the basking light on top then I don’t really see it as a big issue. Once he starts getting bigger and gaining more weight he will probably stop as screen climbing, for...

Veiled Chameleon restless behavior/screenclimbing towards UVB strip

Hey guys, This behavior has started up again, the screen climbing. I’m trying to rearrange branches to see if that helped. Is there any reason why he may have started feeling restless again without many changes to temp/humidity/diet? The one thing of note that had changed is that top...

Veiled Chameleon restless behavior/screenclimbing towards UVB strip

So one thing about veileds that I have noticed is they tend to be a little more restless. With males you will see this when they want to mate as well. They will climb screens non stop. Make sure you have a few branch options at basking level. Make sure one is parallel to the UVB fixture as well...

    Chameleon Sleeping Weird

I'll definitely add more sticks for him around his enclosure, and especially the UVB area. The bulb strength is 5.0, and it is 7.5 inches from his branch. His tongue shoots and retracts normally, but since he is blind in one eye, his accuracy isn't very good. This is part of the reason we need...

    Closing eyes all day

So I do not see a T5HO long linear UVB fixture. Are you only using the compact screw in uvb bulb? If you have the correct one where is it placed? What supplements are you using? Post a pic for me please. These two things above are the two most common reasons for sleeping during the day when...

5 month old panther cham screen climbing, can anyone give input?

That’s why I just moved mine when he screen climbed. You don’t want to get him down when he is up there, it could make him more scared of you, he could fall or he could rip out a claw moving quickly from being upside down. It’s tough for a bit but eventually they stop.

5 month old panther cham screen climbing, can anyone give input?

The reason I have it so high is because of the top screen climbing. This is where I’m not sure what to do. If I leave it at the proper height above his basking space, he is still screen climbing, so that then makes him too close to the light. So to be safe I read to raise it above the screen...

    Infertile Egg Laying Veiled-Chameleon

Hi!! My name is Kristen and I am new to this website! I have done a lot of research through here before but finally started an account recently :). I had a few questions regarding my pet Veiled Chameleon that is currently undergoing her infertile egg laying process for the second time. For some...

    Urgent help needed with Lamp

So you want to take those vines off the top of the cage. UVB does not penetrate through the leaves. Then depending on the UVB bulb strength you need to ensure the distance is correct from the screen where the fixture sits to the branch below it. Also can be much better if the fixture runs...

Husbandry review to ease my mind

Thank you for your reply!! I just wanted to respond to some of your remarks to clarify and/or answer your questions :) I just wanted to clarify this, I use NoD every feeding except for the 2x a month feedings that I use LoD :) I didn't explain that very well haha, sorry. Yes I have a dropper...

    Clarification on recommended UVI

As a matter of record, my guys basking area runs some where around 3.3 depending on the angle of the meter ( which needs a redesign btw ). The photocell / sensor should be situated in away that the sensor is on the shortest side and the readout is on an edge that could be read when laid flat...

5 month old panther cham screen climbing, can anyone give input?

Hi yes I would keep lights raised, but sorry for not making my point clear so a t8 is likely to give off less uv than a t5ho especially with a 5% tube so I would raise it a few inches above not 8 . Or change to your t5ho 5% and lower to around 4 , the chances of thermal burn from a uvb are...

Husbandry review to ease my mind

I've started second guessing lately if Pepper might be unhappy in her cage for some reason, rather than just being a bottomless stomache that knows I'm the food-bringer and demands my attention whenever she sees me 😂 so I just want to make sure everything still looks good and maybe get some...

    Not eating from a cup

I know this about the tong feeding and it’s definitely a main reason I’m trying to switch over to cup feeding thank you for the links and suggestions I’m definitely going to look into a different feeder. Yes there are a lot of branches hidden in the brush. He explores all over and has a branch...

    Clarification on recommended UVI

So is your thread coming from the other thread in which you told someone that their brand new cham was climbing the top screen due to incorrect UVI or temps? I guess I am confused at what you are wanting to get out of this thread.. If Fergusons chart says 3-7 and they are stating a 3 UVI why...

    Infertile Egg Laying Veiled-Chameleon

I have heard about retained eggs and egg binding and I sure hope that isn't the case! I see that she looks a little bigger as if she does have eggs, the vet also clarified that it is noticeable that she does, but I tried doing some closer observations and luckily they aren't super visible like...
