    Chams eggs look good??

They look good to me! How moist is the vermiculite? How deep is the vermiculite? Where are you incubating them? In an incubator or closet? In the dark?

Kinyongia Boehmei - Breeding Project Log

Little over three weeks in, and all 7 eggs are in good shape! Still white, no mold, no shrinking. I think we’re in for a hatch in the spring. The Vecor incubator has been holding a very consistent temperature. Varies by about 1 degree is all, pretty impressive thus far.

    Chams eggs look good??

The vermiculite is moist enough that you can make a small ball without dissolving. It is about 5 to 6 inches deep. I am incubating them in a closet that is always dark. It is a sliding closet.

    “Unique Temperment”

No I actually passed on the female. I don’t want to be tempted to become a breeder. I wouldn’t want the stress of incubating, raising, and selling off little babies! Two is the best number for me

    Diapause for panther chameleons

Are we, as enthusiasts, making things more complicated than they need to be? Sometimes it feels like life finds a way and perhaps letting nature take its course is the best approach. Here's a personal example. I repurposed an enclosure that had previously housed a female panther chameleon for...

    Now a Parsons

If that video is from the Chester Zoo, I actually helped them with the incubation and whatnot with their first clutch that they hatched. There was some discussion of the female in this video was actually a OE. I think the fact that the previous female died like that has nothing to do with...

    Parson’s babies again!

So glad to hear about people having great success with hatching p Parsons’ eggs and raising them, etc. I only had Parsons chameleons a couple of times when I first started keeping chameleons and only had eggs once. I threw the eggs out after incubating them for many months not knowing, back...

Also, eggs are laid in a hole in the ground and buried by the female. They dig out when they hatch…so…they are in complete darkness the whole time they are incubating. It only makes sense to me that there should be no light during incubation. No???

Kinyongia Boehmei - Breeding Project Log

Thanks Jeremy! Been waiting on this day for about.. 15 years since I had my first Kinyongia Multitubularculata. Very excited to finally be to this point and giving it a run. Especially when theirs virtually no Kinyongia being bred in the US. I’ll be back on the thread in a few weeks for an...

    Ideas about desynchronized hatching

...However as far as I remember it was the same "box in a closet with a thermometer to check it from time to time" method most people used. If I recall correctly I even put half of a batch in an incubator with cooling and heating regulation, and even those did not hatch synchronized amongs...

    “Unique Temperment”

The way around that is to have different species. ;) My girl panther is Nosy Be and my boys are Ambilobe. I do have a male and female veiled, but I would never put Stella thru that. (Her one and only love was Hammlet and he’s passed)

What species? Panther? What’s the incubation temperature you’re using? Is the egg being kept in the dark?
