    Bioactive bearded dragon enclosure!!!!

...it is... My guy gets plenty active in the morning, but it's also providing the various gradients, perches, hides, places to lay her eggs, enrichment, etc. What kind of plywood have you got? I can't stress this enough because softwood veneers (pine, spruce, cedar, etc.) contain VOCs, and in...

    I need help

...high up Great! Make sure to have it at the right distance. You can keep bringing him outside even after you get his uvb bulb, it’s great enrichment, and the real sun is always better than fake sun! If you’re taking him out consistently, you’ll need to cut any D3 supplements out of his diet...

    Escape artist

...excited by the prospect of coming out—it's a chance for escape and freedom! Letting him out for a bit is can be considered a form of enrichment, which is generally a good thing for animals in captivity. Here's a study: Moving beyond the “Five Freedoms” by Updating the “Five Provisions” and...

    Crickets

...the shiny plastic and when they do escape into the cage occasionally my Cham takes care of them throughout the day so they add a little enrichment to their lives! Dubias are a better staple feeder but not as available in my area so I do a combination of crickets, dubias, and black soldier fly...

    Wild insects

...already said, parasites and pesticides are both potential risks. I personally think the risk is pretty low with occasional feedings for enrichment purposes, but it should be considered. With Spicoli, he's about 6 and slowing down so he's not going to be around forever; I just want him to be...

Is it ok to switch out plants

After a while, a little change can be beneficial, i.e. "enrichment". New opportunities to explore & grow. Reptiles can get bored too, so I try to "mix things up" a bit a few times a year. They usually spend the next week checking out the changes, and modifying their sinister plans for world...

    Branches for cage

...to be less nubbly so they're a bit more comfortable. But it's good for them to have a bunch of different types of branches to flex out their feet and give them some enrichment. At any rate they don't seem dangerous. Like they're not sharp to the point where if you press on them they cut you...

interesting things to do to enjoy your cham?

I do respectfully agree that the guitar head does vibrate but I see no harm in taking a couple pictures. I would not recommend doing it a lot or playing because it could mess with them. But some ways (if yo ur chameleon likes being handled) you could enriche them is…. Put there favorite feeder...

Redid my blue Ambanjas cage today ...

...to detect. They killed the plant, but I kept the braided trunks to use as branches. If your cham gets around fine on the plants, IDT you necessarily need more branches. Personal opinion: Less branches can be "enrichment"—incentivizing them to figure out how to get from point A to point B.

    Temperatures ?

...(and not LED) it should be OK. I have a male panther, and our ambients hover around 70F. I let him out a couple times a week for 'enrichment'—climbing around on the Missus' houseplants, and he does fine down into the high 60s. We had an outage last week that dropped us into the lower 60s...

How to feed off green and blue bottle fly spikes?

I prefer to feed off blue bottle flies as actual flies. I wait for them to hatch and then let my chams go crazy. I think of them as a good way to provide enrichment for my chams. I follow the same process for blue bottle flies as I do for black solider flies:

    new cage

They're all different, but typically 0-4 days (bell curve). Rarely up to a week. Whenever I make modifications on mine's enclosure (cycling plants in & out, major cleaning, rearranging lights) there hasn't been any at all. In fact it was more like enrichment; he gets to explore all over again!

IMHO university is a place to learn but it's also a place to grow. What do you think it's for? Did you do enrichment programs?

Breeder Care vs Keeper Care: Is there a difference?

...good at creating micro environments that chameleons would grow and mate. At least physically grow. And I know why I was not taking mental enrichment into consideration. It was hard to tell with a lizard that did nothing if it was content. Back then it was an accomplishment to breed multiple...

    Nile Crocodile Feeding!

...and today we got to feed the Nile crocodiles! They're being trained to jump up for their food but not overly enthusiastic so it's still very early, but very good enrichment for them, plus very fun for volunteers like me to try out haha! Not sure how to attach videos sadly but here's some pics :D

Anyone else’s Panther sleep like this?

...I noticed her doing this a month or two ago. Since then I’ve switched the layout of her enclosure and have provided a little more enrichment time when I can. She is my first ever chameleon too. Cage: 18x18x36 Humidity: 40-50 (I live in Michigan it’s very dry right now and hard to maintain...

    Aloha! New to Forum

...I’ve gotta buy a pot for but I’ll end up putting it in my room next to my chameleon cage and I’ll allow him to climb all over it for enrichment. I’m also working on a Chameleon Cage for Van :) I don’t know if people on here have build threads? We had build threads on the forum so I guess...

    Egg count for female ambilobe

...lean towards leaving them in perlite? The nutes makes me think I should switch them to the verm but I do not know if the eggs would be negatively affected"...I'd carefully move them ASAP to slightly moist vermiculite because of the enrichment of the perlite. Try not to turn them as you move them.
