Idk what to do about my chomeleon and its heater and light

I got it a few days ago and I’m assuming it’s anywhere from 2-3 months. I say that because I got it as a gift and they got it from a pet store. From where he normally sits the temp can be from 75-78 degrees and at night it’s around 70 but I’m trying to get it to 68. Sorry if the post seems like...

    Oriental Cockroaches (Blatta orientalis) oothecas

You could try. No telling when he’ll be back on. In the meantime, the info I found about them is they do like dark, warm and humid places, so I imagine that would be the best environment to hatch the ooths. Maybe put a bit of lightly moistened moss around the ooths to maintain humidity. Other...

How old and what gender is my guy???

You’ve been given some solid advice. :) I can’t achieve night temps below the mid 70’s, so to prevent risk of respiratory infection, I don’t fog at all and barely give a very subtle bump to humidity at night via a couple of 15 second mistings. I do occasionally struggle with maintaining a decent...

The Parson chameleon. Care and needs simplified.

Caring for Parson's chameleons involves providing a spacious enclosure with plenty of branches, plants, and hiding spots. Mesh enclosure has a problem with maintaining heat and humidity, placed shrink film on 3 sides to see if that helps can I go upto a 100w for added hea

I actually gutted it yesterday, got rid of moss, and soil, and i did find a lot of sharp tiny pieces in it that I was not happy about and I was also scared of the potential for a respiratory infection from too much moisture. I like the idea of keeping the bottom bare other than live plants. I am...

New Cham Mom with some qs!!

Omg! She is adorable! 🤗 @Gloriawood has given you fantastic advice. I have only used the full screen enclosures by ReptiBreeze and DIY (prefer the latter) and do usually suggest all screen for their versatility and size. It’s quite easy to enclose the back and sides of a screen enclosure to...

    Antwan is stressing me!!

He's likely just adjusting to his new cage.... Imagine being scooped up, blindfolded, then randomly being put into an entirely new country; where you don't speak the same language. That's a bit how this guy feels right now. Just as an FYI to other members; the pet store she bought the cham from...

New study: Furcifer antimena growth rates, interesting prelim results

It could also show that this species will not be able to establish in the hobby due to genetic longevity issues which unfortunately probably means we as hobbyists should not seek them for importation, and they should continue their difficult little lives without us bothering them Cool stuff...

    Chameleon Poop 101

It is a pretty watery urate. Are you fogging as well? Keep in mind you do not want to mist constantly to maintain proper humidity. This can lead to issues with the cage not drying out in the day. I would go ahead and post your own thread and let us go over stuff with you. There are ways to set...

Mesh enclosure has a problem with maintaining heat and humidity, placed shrink film on 3 sides to see if that helps can I go upto a 100w for added hea

Oh you are so welcome!!! Air conditioning should be ok as long as basking temps stay good and cage stays around 70-72ish at bottom. I will add a husbandry review if you are interested, it’s helpful sometimes in making sure our chams are given the best environment they can for being in captivity...
