    Mantis!!!

As a fun treat for your chameleon and great way to eliminate any soil gnats, you can get an ooth and let it hatch in your enclosure.

    Soil & Gnats

This is what I’ve been using most recently. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Miracle-Gro-Performance-Organics-All-Purpose-In-Ground-Soil-1-3-cu-ft-Organic-Garden-Soil/1000663915 I had tried Fox Farms Ocean soil (had to order off Amazon) and was disappointed to find it had bits of pumice or something...

    Little black bugs everywhere

Ahhh mantis ooths, another good one that I forgot about. Drosera capensis would be the species to get and IME they’re very easy provided the right care. Mine even spread like grass and kept flowering. Don’t keep them in the enclosure, they need to sit in a tray of water(think a bog). Their...

    Gnats

I’ve cleaned my lay bin and remade the soil sand mixture over 3 times now because it keeps getting infested with gnats. Is this okay? They’re small and I honestly don’t care they’re in their hit it concerns me cuz she’s going to be laying in it. Any advice? Lol

    Mosquitoes

Phorid would be pretty unlikely in a cham enclosure. They mostly feed on decaying protein. Probably soil gnats.

Got gnats? Katchy’s on sale Black Friday

Interesting I might invest in one just to have it. I finished adding new umbrella tree to my cage earlier so hoping that took care of most of them . Mantis ooths huh?? That's sweet ! I don't know much about mantids but I'm assuming they won't cause any harm to the chams & guessing the chams can...

    Lots of little flies!

You could be over watering and definitely not enough air flow. Wet soil + stagnant air will bring these little fungus gnats. I learned this information years back from a Mistking rep at a show he suggested I install a small pc fan above the cage to encourage air flow. Within a week or so no more...

2 minor problems?? (overwatering plant issues)

I have 2 small issues going on with my plants. 1 is fungus gnats and the other is plants showing signs of overwatering. The gnats are a result of the overwatered wet soil and once I figure out how to decrease the amount of water getting into my soil, both problems should be solved. I've read...

    Fungal gnats

I have so many they're getting annoying lmao. You can can some mosquito bits that you put on top of the soil under the rocks. It's safe for animals just make sure you cover the soil & bits well with rocks.

Fungus gnat problem? Wanted to share this

As many of you know, I highly suggest keeping sundews(if possible) to eliminate soil/fungus gnats. Fruit and phorid flies are a different story. Anyway, if you can't keep some sundews for whatever reason and need another natural and safe way of eliminating them you may want to give these beetles...

    Lots of little flies!

Placed on top. As the plant gets watered, the bacterium that kills the fungus gnats, mosquitos, and larvae of both spreads through the soil, killing them. It's safe for animals, pets, people, fish, etc. too!

    Gnat Problem

I'll try the cinnamon for now and look into the other stuff. I also plan on repotting everything later this week and getting more plants for backup in case I need to switch anything out. And change up my plant placement.

Do the chams ever snack on them or are they too tiny ? Lol

    Gnat Problem

May freeze the plant. Remove top soil where eggs are hatching before u try the new stuff you got. I put screen over top soil and fine chiffon cloth which helps. Also vacuum up the ones that are flying around so the dont lay again. With daily diligence you should get it under control within a...

5 month old panther not eating.

My t5 HO is linear and is approximately 6 inches from the highest branch. So the repashy calcium plus itself everyday will not do it? I did have a croton live plant but quickly got gnat larvae in soil. I had rocks over the soil which I had also switched to organic soil. So I didn’t want to risk...

    Gnat Problem

A little update. I bought food grade diatomaceous earth and I'm gonna put it on the tops of my soil today. Also got a Katchy to put outside the cage at night. I thought about getting isopods, but living in an apartment I don't like the idea of them possibly escaping the enclosure. (Ironically...
