Let me begin with the panther clutch I just hatched.... 9mo incubation period, hatched over about a week, 2-3-4 a day with one stubborn egg remaining now, about 9-10 days after first hatchling....

Not only have they come to town, they have come to my HOUSE!!! They are all over it... I had some 32oz feeder cups, and went out yesterday and picked up 4-500 of them, but I only have 1 chameleon large enough to eat these things... I have way way too many. If I can't figure out something to do...
I would tend to agree that "gaping" (opening mouth and breathing, usually quick deep breaths) is most commonly done because the cham is a bit too hot. That being said, it is definitely not the only reason. I've seen a parasitic worm lodge itself in the nasal cavity in the roof of a cham's mouth...
Also, thank you for your response Kiny, the crickets were the smallest i had out of a 1000 box i got a while back. they were not quite PH size, but they were really close to fitting between the eyes but definately the largest i'd ever offer to another baby again, and then only in an emergency...
