Good post! I agree with your suggestions. I like to use crushed walnut shells as substrate, which makes my bin easy to clean out. It's helpful for me to keep a sifting scoop nearby & frequently sift out dead crickets & expired veggies. A clean bin = crickets that live longer = less $ spent

Hot glue is the bomb for cages and small holes. Mine have lots of glue gobs - not gorgeous - but it keeps the buggers inside!

Thanks Jann and Michelle for the nice comments about my Diva! :) Diva has really been a good eater lately. I was lucky enough to find a closeout of bird ladders at a pet store last summer and I have them everywhere! They're great to wrap vines on or just use a zip tie whenever needed.
