    Silly poop question..

The brown part looks normal. The urate is quite yellow and if I am not wrong also quite brownish. Ideally it is white to light yellow. From what I know, this could mean two things: Either he has retained poop for a longer time in which case it can occur that urate is more on the yellow side...

    Chameleon and Frogs

I don't think hearing them can cause stress, because Chameleons lack the outer ear and therefor only can 'hear' very low frequencies. I would say the main problem is mixing two different climatic zones together. Red eye tree frogs are from the wet tropics while veiled are from moist valleys...

    Veiled vs. Panther

Welcome to the forum. Both are great species to begin with. I would make a decision based on the location you live in. If your location has naturally a higher temperature gradient and humidity is low to medium, a veiled might be good for a start. If you live in more humid and warm areas...

how do you manage your summer lights ?

Sorry, i cannot help much but it sounds a bit strange to me. If he is an adult, the temperature should not be a problem for a panther. Mine tolerates temperatures up to 90, even enjoys it. He should not go to sleep at 3 pm. For a Jackson it could be really too hot especially if the humidity is...

My Babies Sage (veiled) Cooper (Parsonii)

So nice. Congrats. I am sure they will have a happy and long life with you. Don't spoil them too much. You know what happens to spoilt kids, right?

    The Pigs arrived

I couldn't imagine that they are so cute. Still cannot get a good picture of the boy (who is having so nice colors) and one girl as they are always hiding, but this one is always visible and a showoff.

    The Pigs arrived

Hi all. Thanks for the kind words. I hope I can keep them as well as our other Chams. They are super cute for sure.

    The Pigs arrived

Got them from Fa Yuen Street. Between Prince Edward Road West and Playing Field Road. They are usually specialized in nosy bes. But currently they have 3 types of pigs. One of them is the acuminatus. But they sell at quite a high prize.

    The Pigs arrived

I couldn't resist it. Didn't want a new Chameleon. But then I came across these: I got 3 beautiful R. Brevicaudatus. 1 Male, 2 Female. Imported from Germany. The boy has really nice green eyes. They took their time settling in since Sunday. I have them in a temporary enclosure. They seem to...

    Evolution of color variation: Discussion

Funny, I was looking for an answer to the question why men have beards. I found three answers: Rival Dominance, Sexual Attraction, Environment. Maybe in certain areas certain colors leave a bigger impact in terms of all three factors?

    Planted Terrarium for Panther/ veiled?

Enclosure looks great. As far as I have seen, a lot of us use actual soil at the bottom of the enclosure. The main difference between a Pygmy and an arboreal Cham is that you need more foilage up in the air in order to simulate the canopy. In my enclosures I make sure the bottom is...

    Jackson chameleon Head Jerking

Should be normal. The leaf movement is performed by not all but a lot of Chameleons. Usually it is part of their hunting techniques. When mine is very hungry, he shoots right away. When he is not so hungry he gets more hesitant and sometimes jerks his head also.

Silk moth hatching - now what?

First one hatched. Two more to go. They all cocooned at the same time. Hope there can be a pairing. So excited. Now my question: do I put the moth into a separate bin for mating and laying eggs? Should they lay their eggs on a paper towel? Any advise how to proceed would be appreciated.

Need ideas for new reptile (2nd)

I would suggest something very mellow to take care of. Chameleons are high maintenance pets. For me it is quite nice to have something robust and easy going besides. Tortoise and Turtles are great. The Tortoise eats every single veggie we eat (as well as our feeders for the Cham) and walks...
