    Angry S.O.B.

My veiled has been getting progressively more aggressive. I bought him about 2 months ago. He is about a year old, maybe a little less. I take him out of his cage once a week to clean it. At first he didn't really mind getting picked up and moved. Yesterday I went to move him (and he ussually...

    Hydration

I don't have a drip system for my setup. Instead I Place 2 ice cubes in the morning (6:00 am) on top the screen and mist the entire cage. I go to work and when I get home (4:00 pm) I place 2 more ice cubes on top/mist entire cage. I then mist once or twice more and place one ice cube right at...

    What's his deal?

I have had a veiled for a little over a month now. It is a male approximately one year old. It's about 8-10 inches from nose to tip of tail. When I bought him the pet store said that he only ate about 3 crickets/day. He ate everyday for the first month I've had him at least 6-10/day. Over the...

    Guttloading.

I have had more dead crickets using carrots than anything else. I only buy 30 crickets at a time. It lasts frank 4 days or so. I clean the cricket cage with every new bunch I get. I only lose 1 or 2 crickets this way. T

    Guttloading.

I have been feeding my crickets potato, carrot, and even a slice of lime. I try to switch it up with every batch of new crickets. Is this OK. Also I dust with vitamins/calcium (can't think of the name right now) every 3rd or so feeding. T

    not eating.......

Take them out of the cup. Let em' roam free. I had the same problem when I bought my veiled. He wouldn't eat for 2 days because the crickets were in a cup. I set them loose and he immediately picked off like 3-4 of them. T

    yawning??

A couple mornings ago I turned on my veiled's lights and put some crickets in. He climbed to the top and picked off a couple crickets. Over the next 1/2 hour or so he kept opening his mouth like he was yawning (6 times maybe). He also runs up and down the tree (quickly I might add) and rubs...

    How often to clean??

How often do you guys clean your cages. Mines a 16" wide cylinder 3 ft high. Opens from the top. I just dropped a ficus in, and a big stick. Is once a week adequate to clean. I plan on just pulling the ficas and stick out, givin them a rinse and then just blastin the cage with a rinse and put...

    Do Chameleons Actively Hunt??

how many would you feed/day. I found a little trick. My cage opens from the top, not the front. So when I drop crickets in they fall 3 feet to the bottom. Frank stays the majority of the time at the top foot of the cage. I found a trick to putting 6 or so crickets on the screen top and then...

    Do Chameleons Actively Hunt??

yeah, he's a male and he's over six months old. He's about the size of my hand from past my wrist to my middle finger tip (nose to end of tail about 6-8 inches). T

    Do Chameleons Actively Hunt??

so is it better to throw more in for visual stimuli or less. T

    Do Chameleons Actively Hunt??

I mean, I have a tall but somewhat narrow cage. It is thick with foliage (ficus). So thick that I can't find my lizard sometimes. I throw crickets in (6/day) and I only see him eat one or two a day. I can't find the rest. Will he actively hunt out crickets if they are hiding under fallen leaves...

    He Ate!!!!

He drinks pretty well. He likes to be misted. I hand mist him 3-5 times/day just enough to get everything good and wet. He begins drinking immediately ussually. He'll also grab branches and tip em so that the water beads run off into his mouth. It's pretty cool. T

    He Ate!!!!

my new male veiled didn't eat all day yesterday. Today I took the 3 crickets out of the cup I had them in and let them free roam. He hit 2 of em in under 5 minutes and I can't find the 2 I let loose yesterday so I'm guessing that he got those too. Apparently he just won't eat out of a cup. I'm...
