    UVB fixture NOT BULB

I just got a new fixture for my baby tortoises. It's a zilla slimline fixture with a repti sun 10.0 in it. I've seen nasty threads on here about zilla and I wanted to know what's up with that? Is it the fixture or bulb everyone is dissing?

Echos color is finally shinning through!

I posted a thread under the health section about a week ago because Echo was dull and grey. Well that is no more Echo is finally showing his true beauty! I can't wait until his mature colors finally start coming in.

    Step by step breeding crickets?

I have 20+ mouths to feed I have gone through tons and tons of crickets. I think I would know what I'm talking about since I have kept and bred reptiles for 15 years. Depending on how you house your dubias and how many males and females you have breeding at once you can have as many nymphs as...

    Step by step breeding crickets?

Holy cow, I hate crickets. I use them only when I have to which is maybe 3-4 times a week I use dubia roaches, horn worms, silk worms, super worms, and mice (this is for tegus, Chinese water dragons, iguanas, and geckos) I highly suggest dubia roaches as feeder insects over crickets any day...

    just a rant!!

I used to work at a horrific pet store and I would actually turn people away and that is why I got fired. When I first walked into the place one day to check it out I saw very sickly I'll animals, anything from snakes to one very poor Cham that was egg bound and my boss refused her medical...

    Chameleons and snow

I let Echo out on his free range today and first thing he did was climb up to the window in my room and watch the snow fall. He sat there for a good hour or so before he decided to crawl back to his basking spot, then it was back to th window to watch the snow some more. Sorry about the lighting...

Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

I'm ruling out humidity, food, water, and heat as possible reasons for him to be grey. He is in a low traffic area with tons of privacy and he doesn't have any stressors other than being in a new home with a new set up and a new sleep routine. I'm starting to think he's more than definitely just...

    Be prepared for winter weather!

Heat packs like the ones from the hospital would work perfectly. Place your chameleon in a styrofoam box with hand warmer or heat packs and 1 branch or plant. Monitor the temp constantly to make sure your Cham doesn't over heat. If you don't have a generator I suggest not misting you could chill...

    Be prepared for winter weather!

I think it depends on how long the power is out for. I mentioned caring for your feeders above. If you are out of power for 2-3 days the chameleon should be fine without food, but make sure you supply water at all times. If it's more than 3 days you can decide at your own risk. There should be a...

Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

These are his night colors if you can see them. He's got blue bars and a limey green color with some light brown speckeling

Why is my veiled chameleon grey?

Nope, but then again I have not had him very long at all. He shows his true colors when he comes out of the enclosure and when he sleeps just not when he's in the enclosure.
