    Dubia roaches grew too big!

Besides my veiled cham eating less now that he's older (just about a year old now), he is also showing less interest in the dubia roaches. As a result, my supply of roaches that I keep in a storage bin has many that have "aged out of the program"! That is to say they've turned into adults and...

Mistking nozzle on Monsoon Solo II

Sorry I didn’t go that route. Instead I just bought the entire MistKing system and never looked back. Maybe I’ll use the Monsoon on the patio for outdoor spray! Lol what I did for the timer though was set it to always on and then use a smart plug to control all the on/off times. Works great

    Eggshells in gutloading

Knowing how important calcium is, can eggshells be used in the gutloading process?? Was wondering if dubia roaches or crickets might consume them. I’ve become so conscious of vegetable scraps that are thrown away in my kitchen and keep grabbing them for gutloading and eggshells crossed my mind...

    Demestrid beetle larvae?

I discovered all of these under a feeding dish in my dubia roach bin. After a quick internet search, I believe them to be dermestid beetle larvae but would love confirmation from others. I do know there are some dermestids beetles in my bin, especially after the new fresh supply of roaches I...

    Misting water level sensor

This post has provided me with some really good reality checks!! I realized I'm trying to over-automate my setup!! While there MIGHT be some value in this type of technology for vacation monitoring, one would think you'd have a house-sitter anyway and certainly they can fill a bucket just as...

    Misting water level sensor

FOUND IT!! These sensors are Wireless Sensor Tags (wirelesstag.net) and are part of a collection of different types of sensors. You can get one type that monitors temperature (and I think also humidity) and another sensor that can detect presence of or absence of water. $29 per sensor with...

    Misting water level sensor

I just installed a Mistking system on my enclosure, and was watching YouTube videos on setting it up and came across this one where he used some sort of floating water sensor that he drops in the water bucket, which notifies him when he's run out of water. I assume it works off Bluetooth or...

Mistking nozzle on Monsoon Solo II

Yes, I have 2 single nozzles currently. I would like to use 2 double Mistking nozzles but that's probably being over-aggressive to expect Monsoon to handle that. Keep in mind, I'm only running the Monsoon Solo II, not even the Multi.

Mistking nozzle on Monsoon Solo II

I have a misting dilemma!! When I put together my new 2X2X4 enclosure recently, I already had a relatively new Exo Terra Monsoon Solo II, and couldn't quite justify the additional cost to upgrade to Mistking (as much as I want one!!). I also have a fogger for overnight humidity (so that's not...

    Lighting Schedule Question

I use a geeni smart plug/power strip which you can easily program each plug individually, all from a smartphone app. So it's really just a matter of set it and forget it.

    Lighting Schedule Question

I have the following 3 lights on my enclosure: - Basking: Fluker's clamp lamp 150 watt w/ 75 Exo Terra bulb - UVB: Arcadia ProT UVB 12% - Plant/LED: Arcadia Jungle Dawn 22.5" 34 watt The basking light is on for part of the day (first to turn off towards the end of the day), but with both the...

    Shredding!!

Just sharing. Yesterday I noticed the tiniest spot on my Cham’s face which just looked like dry skin. This morning his face started shedding and by this afternoon his entire body looked like he was dressing up as a mummy for Halloween!! And I just saw him rubbing against a branch. First time...

    Best 12 hour light cycle?

IMO the UVB lights are just as bright as any other fluorescent bulb. I find my LED plant light (Arcadia Jungle Dawn) is much brighter than the UVB.

    How well do they hide?

I'm curious how well your chams try to hide. I just moved my juvenile VC into his new enclosure 5 days ago, and even though it's got lots of plants to hide in/around he's been staying out in the open on branches - until today!! Just after lights out, I peeked in to see if he had settled on a...
