Hi all.
I am in the very depressing situation that 3 of my chameleons have gotten seriously ill in just the last couple of days. I will try to summarize, please ask if I am missing to give some information. Here we go...
I keep 1.1 Johnstoni and 0.1 hoehneli. Have had them for 3 months - all...
Hi again.
I have a question regarding Johnstoni drinking behaviour. I mist their cages 2-3 times a day. But I have never seen them drink drops from the leaves. The skin on the male has some folds, like a raisin, so I am concerned that they are dehydrating. Other than that he seems to be...
Hi Ponders.
I am so excited to receive 2.2 CB Johnstoni next week. One of my bucket list species that I can finally get my hands on.
However, it is not easy to find a care sheet. This post is the most recent I could find on Johnstoni so I am asking here, if you could please share information...
Sounds like he is being a very bat chameleon.
Whenever a chameleon does not sleep in the Classic sleep pose (tail curled up) it is reason for alarm I would say. It must be quite stressful on his body to carry his whole weight through the night, instead of resting it on top of a stick. Have you...
Thanks Jeremy but I think I will try another substrate, and see if that fixes it.
I noticed something really odd today. The grasshoppers had split into two groups. All the fully grown with wings were at the bottom, while all the younger ones were hanging from the ceiling sort of pulsing their...
Thank you :) He did already eat quite alot before this one, when he is hungry the locusts have zero chance! He eats alot and also excercises a lot.
So excited how his final colouration will look, from kammerflage's pictures, I have seen that it can still change alot until they are fully grown.
Thank you, I think he is so cool with all his white :)
He eventually found his locust. And posed better for a picture.
How exciting Remkon, good luck with your new little guy!
My grumpy ambilobe male named Anton! :-) He is now around 9 months old and already 43 cm/17 inches, and very colourful. Will be interesting to see how big he gets, and how his colours are going to develop.
Here is a picture of Anton not being able to find his dinner which is hiding somewhere...
How do you guys get them to lay eggs. I find it hard to keep any humidity in the soil, since the enclosure is so warm. I have seen several matings now, but no laying, so I am assuming that they don't want to deposit in the substrate that I am providing.
The angle of the light also allows them to behave more natural. In the cage the "sun" is allways directly above the cham, which is quite un-natural when you think of it.
Is this cage just temporary for egg-laying or is it her everyday home? If she allways lives there, I would recommend putting a lot more climbing sticks in there, so she can utilize the entire cage. There is good information in the Enclosure section here on the page, if you have not seen it, and...
