This is from the day we brought him home. We drove a total of 5 hours to rescue him 3 weeks ago. My Roscoe ended up passing away 4 weeks ago and it was strange having an empty enclosure. This little guy had just recently had a surrender application submitted but the organization didn't have room.
That's what I was thinking but thankful you confirmed. He's my first handsome little green guy and I'm definitely not all knowing like so many of you on this forum are. ? You guys are a ton of help. It is truly appreciated. ?
Ok. That's great. Thanks for that. I'm wondering if I should hold off on the supplements for a week to let his body get readjusted or if I should only dust every other feeding? I just want to help him recover as quickly as possible but as healthy as possible too.
Got it! I'm thinking I may have over done it. I usually put the crickets in a cup, dump them in a bag and gently shake. I think I may just skip the bag altogether and just put a small amount of supplement in the cup and gently swirl the cup with crickets in it.
Ok. Can ask how your method is of "lightly" is. I have been putting crickets in a bag, lightly shaking and then removing. Am I doing this wrong too I wonder?
Ok. Good to know. Should I only give him the repashy supplement once a month, I wonder, until the swelling goes down or is that something that is dire?
Thank you! Could it be caused by the supplement and if so, about when should I see the swelling go down? I am going to keep an eye on him but am wondering at what point I should look at taking him to a vet to be seen? I have taken him to the vet before and he was slightly dehydrated but the vet...
I feed the insects, sweet potatoes, romain lettuce, carrots, fruit occasionally like strawberries, pineapple, apples and oranges. I change the food every day.
I gave it to him on the 25th of last month. I guess I was just worried because you had mentioned the calcium w/out D3 and then the repashy twice a month. I was worried that I had been giving him too much calcium. Thank you. I will 100% ditch the other supplement.
Omg! I'm overdosing my poor baby! ? His next repashy dose is tomorrow but I won't feed him tomorrow so I gave it to him this morning with 5 crickets. He ate 4 of them. So then do I not give the calcium with every feeding? Maybe I've misunderstood. What do I do to help with the edema?
In the last week, I have noticed a buldge in Rosco's neck. It is soft, not hard. I have not changed anything about his enclosure and I have done a husbandry check about a couple of months ago. The only thing I have added is a misting system that I made with the help of a few people on the forum...
I'm so sorry for your loss. You did a fantastic job caring for him and giving him the best quality of life during his final days. You are a blessing in his life and you should never feel like a failure for being a blessing. Everything happens for a reason and purpose. He lived longer than he...
