as far as your basking spot goes, that is way to hot for a jacksons. The highest it should get is low 80's. jacksons like it cool, my jackons start gaping when it gets to like 78 so most of the time I dont even have the basking bulb on.
Not sure about the hissing thing, but my panther loves to poop when he gets out of the cage. On my hand, on the carpet, found a lovely big thing on my keyboard yesterday. :)
Right now my panther is in the middle of a shed, it's taking him a week so far. He started with his tail now each of his feet are in the middle of it. Now I'm just waiting for the rest of him.
So I got a new jackson's cham last thursday and he has been doing great, drinks and eats just fine and is fairly active.
