    My chameleon fell !!! Help!!

Just look her over and make sure she is acting normal and nothing looks broken or bruised. Usually they can handle falls pretty well. In the wild they sleep at the very edge of teeny tiny branches so if a predator comes along they can jump off and land on the ground.

Affordable reptile vets in Sacramento area

At Bradshaw the fecals are not cheap though, so I wouldn't do regular ones there. I can't remember exactly, but I think it's like $60 for a float and smear? I want to rant about crazy prices for a second. One place in Elk Grove as asking $120 for an exam and $100 for a fecal for my...

    Help sex the pyglets!

    I think 1, 2, 7, and 8 are female, so... I guess you will have to wait for 7 and 8! :)

    Rodent water bottles?

I did this when I was little with my first cham, a veiled. (I read that book as one of my first cham care guides before I was old enough to use the internet.) My bottle only dripped a little when I first put it in and that first attracted him to it. After he used it randomly for a couple weeks...

Affordable reptile vets in Sacramento area

The Bradshaw vet is okay. He's not super chameleon-wise but he will actually go through literature and call other vets if he doesn't know something. They are less expensive than a lot of exotics vets in Sac, but not cheap either. He did my veiled's tongue amputation as an emergency visit. People...

    I feel terrible :'(

Well, if you have a lot of branches for basking at various temps (creating a proper gradient) getting pretty close to the bulb shouldn't matter because they can move away to a spot that is a (or a few) degrees cooler if they need to. Mine can get pretty close (maybe 4-5" from their spines) but I...

    anyone seen this before

How old is she? 5-6 or 9? Either way she's younger than the recommended 12 months old for breeding, and it is very possible that he bred her. Be prepared for fertile eggs in the coming weeks. Males (and sometimes females) will usually do just about anything to get to a receptive chameleon of the...

My Nosy had an odd laying cycle

If you are trying to keep her clutches down (by feeding less and keeping cooler temps) they often will have smaller clutches. My smallest clutch was only 12 or so eggs but she was mated. It's possible that it is all she had to lay, but like NHenn, I am concerned about her being removed too...

    Cham names list

I really like the names of gods from mythologies (especially Greek) so all of mine are named after them. My favorites: Pan Helios Hyperion Nyx Eos Eris

    Swallowed Tongue???

My veiled has swallowed his tongue, but it was because it was infected and ended up having to be amputated. Be sure to check over her tongue carefully to be sure it is normal. If there is anything wrong with it (like infection or injury) you want to get it seen and taken care of by a vet ASAP so...

    Dual gendered chameleon?

I agree that is a very male chameleon for the reasons trace stated. There have been rare cases where chameleons seem to be intersexed, but this is not one.

    Heat lamp for wife

Have you tried one of those electric blankets? I get really cold like that too (even had an ultrasound on my feet and all was normal) and heated blankets are nice!

HEALTH HELP!?! My Chameleon is a Reincarnated Cat. (hates water)

Has it been a while since his last poop? Sometimes if they hold in a poop/urates for longer than normal it will come out yellow/orange and then lighter (or white even) at the tip. That's kind of what it looks like might have happened to me. Usually this is okay as long as it doesn't happen all...

Grrr.. pretty boy doesnt like girls.

I was told with one of my males that he might not have been interested (despite being shown other males) because the female wasn't quite ready and he knew it, but I couldn't tell (even though she was showing all the receptive signs I thought possible.) He ended up mating with her 2 weeks later...
