Congratulations on your first chameleon Donnie! It won't be your last, lol. I bet your daughter is super stoked. Great job on that cage. Looks like a chameleon paradise. I wish I held onto my surplus silkworms, lol. I could have given you around 200 silkies. My little mulberry tree could not...
Thanks guys...yeah, Kraken's a pretty boy :) I love that his yellow cheeks are coming in.
Thanks Donnie! You know you guys are welcome back anytime. Let me know when you get your panther!
The big table. Krakatoa and Kraken were happy to be in their new places! I must say, I couldn't believe how big a 2'x2'x4' cage really is! DIYcages is my choice for good cages. Still waiting to order the 18"x18"x36" cages...they have been out for a while.
The coroplast visual barriers slide...
I used West System Epoxy to waterproof the basin area. It's a great 2 part epoxy designed for boatbuilders. A lot of people who build giant plywood aquariums use this stuff. (Yep, I said plywood aquarium :)...you should google it!) If it's good enough for boats and aquariums, it's good enough...
After a month or so, I have finally finished my drainage tables! The large one accomodates two 2'x2'x4' cages for my boys, and the small one accomodates two 18"x18"x36" cages for my girls.
Squares and clamps are your best friends. The basin bottom is 3/4" BC exterior grade plywood. The sides...

Call me naive, but I didn't know about the disinfecting properties of vinegar. I'm googling options now. My concerns are the porous ends of the vine that are cut...pretty sure the surface is not porous. Gotta be careful about what I use. And I'm pretty sure it will melt if I put it in the oven, lol.
Well to be honest, I have never had a mulberry! What does it taste like? Tart like a raspberry? Sweet like strawberries? But I have never met a berry I didn't like, so I am sure I'll eat it up. :)
:) Well that is the only thing good about Louisiana weather. Chameleons and mulberry trees love this hot, humid, swampy weather! Myself, I would much prefer cooler weather!!
Yeah, many consider them an invasive species. That's unfortuante for you....are you sure you can't plant a mulberry in your own yard? Would anyone rat you out if you did? :D It would be such a hassle to go out and collect leaves everyday! I can't imagine they would stay fresh long enough.
I am...
