    The best thing you can do for chameleon is to cover the lengthy husbandry requirements before actually getting the chameleon. Surprises always pop up. Many things are easy to overlook or forget. Good luck with your new Cham

    Lighting question

    I have 2 dual t5 tropic blaze fixtures. 1 with a plant pro bulb and 12%arcadia uvb bulb. The other fixture has 2 6500k daylight bulbs. (And also a basking bulb). Can I shut down the daylight bulbs at mid day due to too much heat in the room? I know some stagger the lighting in their enclosures...

    Pothos and umbrella plants for my Ambilobe (7 months) setup. Mistking, 2 T5 dual tropic blaze fixtures, 2 6500k, 1 plantpro bulb and 1 UVB 12% bulb. 45w-65w basking incandescent bulb depending on seasonal temps.

    I use the zip ties to (as mentioned above) attach branches to each other.

    I use thumb tacks to secure the branches to the screen. Been holding up for 5 plus years. As mentioned above zip ties are a great resource. Currently resetting up a enclosure for the arrival of my new Ambilobe.

    How to get scared Cham to drink

    Each Cham is different and require longer or shorter misting times to drink. 90% of the time I don't see my chameleon drink. Other times I see him shooting at water drops after the mister stops. Depends on his mood.

    Use fresh cut branches and leave the bark on. No need to bake either. If you want piece of mind use a 10:1 water to bleach solution. Rinse and install.

    Don't cheap out on a misting system. Chameleons are not inexpensive to keep. A mistking system may seem expensive but is worth it 100%.
