I need to get a humidifier for Charma's tank. I just started working again, and my boyfriend is out of town, so it's hard to keep her humidity up while I'm gone if my family forgets to mist. I've been thinking about getting a humidifier for a while now, and I need to find one fairly inexpensive...
If I had fed her last night. I would have waited until she ate them all (I would have only put a few in, to hold her over until this morning.) But I waited anyways.
I was always told that chameleons get stressed easily when handled, so I try not to handle mine, but I feed her by hand once a day (treats such as super worms).
Trimming the nails isn't a necessity and, as you've already read, is bad for them. Even the sharpest little chameleon nails won't penetrate skin. It doesn't hurt at all, unless she gets on your eyelid or something. Also, depending on the breed. Handling might not be a good idea. Veileds don't...
So, I fed my chameleon, and noticed immediately after I put the crickets in there (I don't cup feed, still haven't figured that out) that there was drippings in the corner. I watched, disgusted, as two crickets went onto the feces and she snatched up a cricket.. And a poop... And ate them. Is...
I've read here and other places that citrus is too acidic for crickets, meaning its a bad idea to gutload and feed oranges to your scaly baby. You're better off with kale or apples.
So I made a huge mistake and forgot to buy crickets yesterday. Charms ran out the day before. I got some today, but its late. she gets put to bed at 10, its 8:45. Is it okay to feed so close to bedtime?
Well I cut the water melon today. I will probably gutload tonight with it. They love the apple. And watermelon has more... well.. Water, so I hope it hydrates them
Does anyone know if watermelon (rinds?) Are safe to gutload crickets with? Been feeding them apple. I have a watermelon I am going to cut up today and I don't want the rinds, and what is left of the watermelon on the rind to go to waste if I can gutload with it. Mainly I want to make sure its...
Charma gets natural sunlight twice a week for a few hours a day. I also couldn't find calcium powder without d3. I looked at all three pet stores near me (within 20 miles) and couldn't find anything.
