Jackson's don't require much heat above room temperature. My guy does most of his basking under the UVB light as well. The rest of the time he is patrolling for crickets.

Considering how cute their parents are you know the babies are going to be adorable. Especially when they hatch from tic tacs. :)

A lot of chameleons eat snails in the wilds. The shells are just extra calcium. The problem I have heard of with wild snails and slugs is that they can carry parasites.

They are in the apple family so you would want to avoid the seeds as the likely have cyanogenic compounds. The flesh of a ripe loquat is so soft it would be hard to feed to crickets though. They tend to rot very easily.
