I am definitely not an expert, but if you've only had him for 4 days then there is a good chance that he is just stressed from the new move and does not want to eat. Also, I know the cage is temporary, but you need to limit the handling at first. Once your lil guy shows that he is feeling more...
The way it worked for mine was that he went on a food strike against Crickets, which is always a pain since other feeders are sometimes less nutritious and Dubias are not always the easiest roommate to convince your family of. But I offered him fruits and some leafy greens.
Typically if you...
I always fed Wiz as much as he would eat in a sitting, sometimes as many as 15-20 small crickets a day. Now though, only at 5 months old, he has slowed down. He is still healthy but I wish sometimes he had the appetite of a young chameleon.
She might just not be eating because she just moved in. Some chameleons and most reptiles/pets go through a phase of figuring things out, plus the shock of being in a totally alien place. I will let someone else answer your light question, but I do question the 100W bulb as possibly being too...
She looks great! And no worries to those about the highlighter, I got mine from the same breeder/store and it comes off with the next shed. No big deal, though when I got my Crestie there and they marked it that was another story - lil bugger didnt want to sit still.
Hey all,
So far Wiz has been nothing less than an eating machine but lately has taken a turn for eating less to nothing at all. I had to be away for a trip this last week so my family took care of him but they said he would only eat 2-3 crickets, or none at all that day. When I got home too...
My local reptile breeder will sell Chams after a month if they have reached a certain size. So only a select few get to leave if they have outgrown the rest of their clutchmates.
I have yet to see one at PetsMart but I would say that could explain small size too since PetsMart seems to...
I would say this too, I have realized that my 3mo old is rather large, but that one is so tiny. I know that sometimes with competition in a baby bin there is less to eat, but he is tiny in every which way, but still obviously adorable.
Edit - Nice Gnomeo and Juliet.
It looked kinda like a female to me too, but I cant honestly tell. And 20 is definitely not too much if they are small. You might want to move up to the medium/large cricket size. Mainly less crickets to take care of, and your cham will not be eating quite as many. Mine used to do the same, eat...
He is adorable, especially those 3 week old pics. I wish they stayed lil forever. Wiz is also 3months old, but from everyone else's pics that I have seen Wiz is ginormous.
Awesome looking cham, I am definitely getting a panther for the next one. Though I have caught the crested gecko bug, they are just so easy to care for :p
Thanks, he got some butter worms and wax worms for a treat today. My pet store didnt have any for a while and was happy to have them back. He comes running out of the cage for them.
Looks great, good looking boy.
What kind of panther is he? I am totally oblivious with the panthers and all of their locals except for the nosy be with their blues.
