No, you need to mist him every hour that the lights are on. Put the mister on the timer with the lights. Don’t mist him while he’s asleep

Just because he’s from petsmart doesn’t mean he’s not gonna grow up to be a healthy Cham, it’s just they don’t care for them properly. But now you have him, so let’s get him to a healthy state! You’ve got it; just put in the effort to make sure this little creature stays alive and well.
