    A question for everyone!

I have purchased all my chams from reputable breeders which I found through this forum. Personally, I don't feel that chams from pet shops are as healthy and cared for properly. I've heard too many horror stories from people who have bought them there. Good Luck!

Temp range for keeping panthers outdoors

I live in OH and we have super crazy weather. In the summer, I will only put my chams out if it is between 80 and 85. I don't leave them outside at all at night. I have a few cages that are set up with plants that are for outside days. I rotate my chams, a few every day, bring them in at night...

    Fast shedding?

I agree, totally normal. When I have a cham shedding, I make sure to give them a few extra warm mistings right on them to help out. Good luck!

    another question...or two...

Hi there friend! I would never sway anyone from a panther or a veiled. It just depends on your own preference. However, if you are basing your choice on ease of care, then I would suggest a veiled. They are a very hearty choice for first time owners. If you are basing your decision on coloring...

Bob didn't want to go in his cage

I have two males that do that too. So funny! I do the same...I let them roam around and enjoy the fact that they will let me handle them. Super cool!:)

    Spiders...Ahhhh!

Thanks everyone! I guess now I don't have to worry too much now. I think I'll do a little of both...cedar and orange oils and try to keep as many away as possible not worrying too much if they happen to ingest one here and there. :)

cham arrived today, chewing on plants

Yes, mine do nibble on the leaves from time to time and to date, I've seen no problems. This is only my experience.I've learned that the amount of toxins in the schefflera arborcola are very low and consumed in small amounts are not dangerous. It sounds like you know your stuff and I would not...

cham arrived today, chewing on plants

Good point...not all plants within a specific genus are safe. However, the Schefflera Arborcola (Dwarf Umbrella Tree)is most certainly safe. I'll admit, I am not sure about any other Schefflera, but I am about this one.:)

Where did you order your pro grade orange peel oil from? Sounds like a good plan! :)

    Spiders...Ahhhh!

Thanks for the suggestion! Thought about it, but I have 23 adults, 50 new babies, and about 2k eggs incubating. In the summer I use a mixture of lavender dish soap and water to keep spiders away from the patio, but wasn't sure if the chams would hate it as much as the spiders and stress them out.

    Spiders...Ahhhh!

I live in OH near the lake and we get an abundance of spiders year round. All different kinds. Almost none of them are harmful to humans but I've been told that they can be to my chams. Im sure that the cricket and fruit fly population is irresistible to them. I would never try pesticides...

    Free range tree

I think by now, most of you may know how i feel about using the schefflera...i love them. Very sturdy, hold up well to excess water from spraying and dripping, an abundance of leaves to hold moisture and for drinking from, and lots of places for your cham to hide in. It is totally your call which...

    Age?

I agree, 4-5 months old. As far as color, she will be shades of a pinkish peach most of the time. When she gets a little older, you will see some light black markings show depending on her mood, receptiveness, etc.. Some of mine have beautiful markings. I think the females are gorgeous in their...
