    Veiled Chameleon Skin Infection (?)

I would say its a burn based on speed of appearance. If i got it right you found him like that one day, and the day before he was fine. If an infection spread that quickly i doubt it would have just stopped like that.

    Turned dark, vet trips????

I meant have two syringes, one with water, and one with medicine. Have them both handy, once he starts drinking from the water syringe quickly switch them and drip the medicine into the mouth. If you don't get all of it in at once give water again and when he starts drinking switch syringes...

    Turned dark, vet trips????

have you ever given him water by pippete or syringe? If he takes to drinking like that it you can switch syringes containing water for ones containing medications making it much less stressful to administer, you don't have too force his mouth open etc.

    Healthy weights for females

Here are the new photos. She looks exactly the same to me, and as far as size is concerned. When i got her she was 11months old, she should be a year and 3months now. She's still smaller than the male.

    Dead or Akinesia?

I'm not an expert on pygmies, but i think their vitD3 requirements are lower than other chams. It would be wise to use calcium without D3 for everyday cricket dustings, and the one with D3 only twice a month. :)

    Intelligence in chameleons?

I had a male panther cham, probably the tamest chameleon ever. the two years i was privileged to own him he had only puffed up at me once, when i startled him as i tried tried to remove a dead cricket he decided looked like a good idea. He was able to easily distinguish between me and my mum...

Carpet chameleon very unwell, please help

I don't know how much this helps, but my vet has successfully brought one of my dehydrated gravid female panthers back into good condition by giving her an infusion. She used 1:1ratio 0.9%saline:ringer solution, and gave it as a subdermal bolus injection into the hind legs, the thigh area. About...

    Healthy weights for females

I have to say i gave up on ever getting a reply to this thread, so thank you very much for your feedback! :D Unfortunately one of my girls passed away. :( Both girls had a spell of watery stool and were doing poorly in general, but the vet couldn't find any sign of parasites or infection in...

    Healthy weights for females

thanks for the heads up.. i'm not planning on breeding them yet, coz i don't have the conditions to care for the babies, but i would like to in the future. I've heard about the sudden death issue and its definitely discouraging, but i have to say i hadn't considered the multiple clutches, i...

    Healthy weights for females

Hi, i'm still quite new at breeding and was wondering if somebody can tell me what would be a healthy weight for breeding a T. jacksoni xanthalopus female. She will be a year old in november, but she seems quite small to me.. So i'm wondering if there's any guidelines. Thanks! :)

    Cricket parasites?

I agree, the thing is i was keeping one of those florists' sponges in there coz they're really good for egg laying and cricket reproduction, but i guess i kept it abit too moist... :/ Time for new sponges, hopefully i'll manage to avoid mites in the next round... :)
