    Unable to walk?

Happy New Year all! :) She is a lot better now. Still not 100% but we are getting there. She is pooing and drinking. She is eating but not on her own. Her back legs are getting stronger with today being the first day that she has lifted herself up on all legs. The only downside is that she is...

    Unable to walk?

Merry Christmas all. She is not eating and so I can't quickly pop it in. She has not eaten since Saturday but I've just force fed her. I mashed up four locust and forcefully opened her mouth after the first bit she was quite receptive to more. Tomorrow I'm going to go to the pet shop for a...

    Unable to walk?

Can anybody tell me the best way to open her mouth. She is on numerous medication but opening her mouth for all of them is becoming a struggle. She is ok for the first one but then she is very stressed. :)

    JoJo is egg bound :C

Are there no emergency vets? even non-exotic ones should be able to treat her. I ended up taken mine to a dog vet for an x-ray and oxytocin. Oxytocin, Liquid Calcium and a bit of luck and hopefully she'll be fine.

    Unable to walk?

Thank you :) I'm just glad that it was financially viable or she would have been put down. We have figured out that she has had more spent on her than the kids this Christmas ha ha. I know its early days but she is definitely stronger. She is a little wobbly while moving but i think that is...

    Unable to walk?

We are home :) She wouldn't have passed the eggs at all. I can't remember the name put the egg shell wouldn't form. So thanks for everybody that kept telling me to sort her out. She is a bit dopey and very reluctant to take her medicine but so far so good. Has anybody got any guidelines...

    Unable to walk?

We have identified three vets to ring in the morning. She will have oxytocin and liquid calcium in the morning with the possibility of surgery in the afternoon. She has not eaten today but she is drinking plenty. Her grip is also very strong. Other good news is that she has backed into a pre...

    Unable to walk?

I don't think so. She did say that they are not that sort of vet. Can she have more oxytocinin? Also, how long can we leave her until she requires surgery? I ask because if we can't do anything tomorrow will she be OK till after Christmas?

    Unable to walk?

She has had oxytocinin. The vet said that we could take her back for more in the morning.

    Unable to walk?

I went to a normal vet near where i live. They were one of only a few prepared to give her an x-ray. The only thing I can do is ring the initial vets tomorrow to see if the specialist is back of her holiday. If not then I am stuck :( I hate to say this but is it getting to the stage when...

    Constipation..?

Do you see him drinking? We have a syringe type thing (without the needle) which allows us to drip water which she will drink from. I'm no expert but would raising the humidity help? just for the next few days? I'd wait till someone confirms or denies this before doing it. :)

    Unable to walk?

So even at this stage she will be fine for a few days?

    Unable to walk?

They sorted it out. :) She is in a laying bin in the viv at the moment but shes not really doing anything. The vet did say that she can have more in the morning if she needs it. She also said that this is likely to fail and surgery is really the only option.
