lol hes shedding... trans won't just jump to his entire dome like that. it's white, the outer skin is drying out. you can tell cuz the colors are different underneath in the pictures but the paste white stays the same.

im assuming in order for the nails to file down you need a plant that is thick enough for their nails to be engaged in the plant. if hes climbing on little vines that dont require him to use his nails, then of course its not working. or if he avoids the thicker plants the same can happen.
