I'm certain that the person you contacted was not the breeder I got Lucki from. This guy (we will call him "John") appeared very professional and legitimate. When I arrived, John had Lucki packed up in his little container with his paper towel and cage. After a brief FAQ session, he asked if...
I did at least one month of solid, obsessive internet research. (When I do anything, I do it all the way. You would not even believe how much I know about chams now!) In February, I was under the impression that a 3-4 month old chameleon was A) old enough to be brought home and B) large...
Hi jajeanpierre. Thanks for your response.
To answer your questions..
I did not have him shipped, I picked him up. Obviously things with reptiles are different but with furry mammals, shipping is frowned upon. Like if a breeder wants to ship a dog or a cat, you shouldn't buy from them...
Thank you, everyone for your kind words. I thought all day about where to bury Lucki, wondering what he would like or where he would be happy.. I decided to put him in my yard. I realized he seemed mostly happy and would have had a nice life here had he had the chance. :(
Hi everyone.
Lucki passed away today. He had been fragile and delicate since the day I picked him up. I almost lost him on day one, he slept most of the Friday and Saturday after the Thursday night I brought him home. He was dehydrated when he arrived and uninterested/afraid of the water and...
Why exactly do you think you need to change his cage? What is it that you think is lacking?
>>The breeder gave me an aquarium basically but I am worried about ventilation/bacteria/fungus. I also worry that it can get too hot in there for him sometimes when I am not home to check/mist. I was...
Greetings. I have an (allegedly) 3 or 4 month old panther. I have had him three and a half weeks and was told he was 3 months old when I got him. Anyway, we went to the vet last Thursday and the doc predicted he was about three weeks old. I did see some 12 week old panthers at an expo last...
Thanks for the input! The eye is still shut so we made our first trip to the vet (I've had him three weeks, today). They flushed the eyeball and he's on eyedrops. No real answer as to what caused it, possibly a humidity issue? I can't wait to give a one inch long baby chameleon eyedrops...
Hi there. Lucki was favoring his right eye this morning and I noticed his UVB bulb went out today. I didn't have a spare on me, but purchased one and replaced it after work. Since returning home, I have not seen him open the eye. He has been misted three times today, and I have seen him rub...
I need food help, please. I've read every bit of info in the world so I know what I'm *supposed* to do. BUT, I still haven't found crickets small enough to interest my 3 month old panther. His weight won't even register (for reference a chopstick will and so will plastic tweezers, but a bobby...
He is not interested in the crickets that I have. Where do I find all these tiny bugs?
Also, he is the only baby (or reptile) that I have so I really don't need to worry about him eating anyone else's tail.
