How is your female today?
If she is getting worse, take her to a vet, please.
Where in jhb are you? I have a good vet located in Edenvale that is not too expensive.
Let me know if I can pm you the number?
What are you planning to get the disinfectants for?
Hi Mark,
I have a very good reptile vet located in Edenvale. They are difficult to find in SA, but there are a few.
He has a couple of rescued flap necks of his own as well as a host of other reptiles.
Please pm me if you want his number.
PS - glad to hear he ate :)
Mark, ga-ga grubs to us are referred to as pheonix worms.
You may need to prick the skin on one or two before you feed them to him, as they may not be digested and come out on the other side whole - this is if he doesn't chew them properly .
My guy does not eat these at all, but...
The silkies I have tried have all been very healthy. None of what you described.
He has reacted this way to silkies from the first time I tried to introduce them.
I try to introduce them every couple of months, but get the same reaction every single time. At least I also have a beardie, so I...
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
I gutload properly (follow the recipe on adcham) and have a fixed supplementing regime.
He eats everything else offered. His staple are crix and roaches with the occasional wax worm, which he LOVES :)
He will on the odd occasion take a super worm, but not...
Hi All,
My 1 yr old male veiled refuses to eat any plant matter what-so-ever. He also really hates silkworms.
My question here is -is this normal behavior and how do I go about getting him interested in veggies and silkies.
I cup feed and do add veggies to this, but he seems totally disgusted...
Hi All,
My male veiled cham about 9 months old always used to eat about 4 - 8 3/4 crix a day, but the last few weeks he is consistently eating about 12 a day.
He is currently shedding. Is this normal? Or should I be worried?
As far as I have read, he should be slowing down...
Hi All,
Thanks for the replies.
I am cup feeding and only offering nymphs (lobster roaches), so they are not too big for him.
He has accidentally eaten about 3 roaches, but doesn't seem to like them very much.
I will continue trying to get him to at least try them. I am trying to give...
Hi there,
I am trying to get my 7 - 8 month old Veiled male to eat roaches, but he just looks at them and keeps on walking.
He is not into worms of any kind and hates a silkworm, with this in mind, my feeder choices are somewhat limited......
He does eat his gutloaded...
Agree with the poor quality of set-up that Reptilians had (again).
They were also selling an "adult" (more like 4 months, if that much) veiled pair together in a small cage. At least it was a mesh cage.
The female looked gravid or totally stressed out.....
I also wondered about the...
