I had one that did discolor and sweat. Then it puffed back up a month later sweat and hatched. There's a million scenarios and two possible outcomes. Be patient on it though.
Yeah was a sperm plug.... First time raising chameleons, and my big guy is finally hitting the 8 month mark. Was really just the perfect storm of scenarios to flip me out. Also kind of weird how it looks like a worm a mammal can get.
Noticed the next day that there was a semen like discharge...
Well how old was the egg when you got it? If the egg is that deep it might have problem pipping. That substrate looks rather moist IMO and that egg is too deep, looks like it rotted to moisture or wasn't any good to begin with. If you've had it for six months it should have showed earlier if...
@kinyonga it isn't exposed. I looked at him today and he had something protruding outside but he sucked it back in? Kind of hard to describe but definitely a wtf moment.
Best reptile vet in the bat area... I need a full fecal float, stoma check. Life happened I relied on pet store feeds and im pissed. I've been pulling a white mucus/roundworm looking thing from my big guy. I checked on him this morning stumbled upon his weird poop ritual...noticed a...
I'd try to soak the burned area with a paper towel to moisten up and clean the burned areas. I'm sure there is something over the counter that could be used until the vet call on Monday? I can't imagine that thing is having fun ?
Less than 6" the screen is cutting what ever the bulbs output is by roughly half. A 10.0 or higher if there's a screen. Exo Terra 15.0 23w will probably put you in the ball park in regards to what makes it through. As the light depletes it should stay in a suitable range for longer.
I should be good but I do want to get the UVI locked down. They can't get closer than a foot to it so I'm pretty confident. My biggest concern is what UVA levels the 160w is putting out. Doesn't mention anything on the exo Terra website. On the other end the CFL chart gives UVA levels...
After finding out the nutrition values behind the soldier flies I was excited. One of my chams tolerated them...the picky one. The non picky fat one rejected them. They didn't seem to move enough and it's almost like they have to be swallowed whole because of their squishiness. Maybe later...
Yeah I'm currently winning the battle of mouth rot. Been a fun couple of weeks. I'm just thankful my guy is take enough to not get too fussy.
Ended up changing the whole lighting set up in my enclosure. Cut all the T5 strip bulbs because they don't belong in a 7 foot cage.
Replaced with a...
I'm usining the calcium plus. I do a heavy dusting on 5-7 of them. Anything over that I feed them straight. The crickets are gut loaded I don't dust anything else.
So over the last month my big guy has gotten a small growth/scab the size of an eye booger protruding from his upper jaw. Everything else regarding him seems healthy, active, eating like a champ, drinking and pooping normally.
The red flag to me is the fact he's going at everything and...
