    Snout to Vent

All, I am having trouble finding any literature that gives a snout to vent length of an adult male Furcifer pardalis. I can find lots of info that says they get to be ~ 15-20". Is this actually snout to vent or tip to tip?

    Distilled Water

Thanks for all your responses. I may make the switch to distilled as the tap water leaves everything covered in a white film (plants, screen, pan). I assume this is an electrolyte of some sort.

    Aggies???

I was wondering if there are any Aggies out there? It would be good to know someone in the area with the same interests.

    Distilled Water

I have seen a few people say that they use distilled water to hydrate their animals. I have always been told that distilled water lacks minerals and will actually leach minerals out of an animal. Same thing goes for humans-we aren't supposed to drink it. When the water is passed in the urine...

    Sleeping Schedule

Mine seems to sleep according to the natural day/night schedule. At around 5PM he will go to his perch even though his lights are on and start trying to go to sleep. His lights go out at 6:30 PM.

    Is my chameleon being burned?

I can't really say for sure. I feel like the spines in that area would develop a more "burned" look. Do they look distressed in any way?

    First Chameleon few questions...

Welcome. I'm glad to see a fellow hobbyist interested in doing right for their animal. First get rid of the substrate. Unless you want to mop up water all the time, a drainage system is recommended. I use both a mistking system and a dripper. The dripper really just makes me feel better...

    Is my chameleon being burned?

I can't really see what you're referring to. Is it possible to get a better picture when you have him out? I think the light reflection is keeping me from seeing the mark.

    Other Reptile Species?

Others Herps I recently got rid of my Mexican black kingsnake to make room for my panther. I also have a few different species of Ambystoma. Unfortunately I am a herpetologist and my job requires me to keep various herps for pickling. Before anyone chimes in and tells me how terrible I am...
