Ruga was laid to rest today. He was 5 years and 4 months old. I realize I didn't post much in this forum, but I learned all about how to care for him here.

Pseudo-gout (veiled chameleon) - any hope?

Update: pseudogout has spread to his front legs, confirmed via Xrays at Vet today. He was fed and hydrated at the vet today. Super, super elevated AST (vet also mentioned elevated CPK). I'm spending some time with him right now and seeing how he does tomorrow. Still barely moving, unable to...

Pseudo-gout (veiled chameleon) - any hope?

Thank you, all. We're getting blood work done today and seeing how to proceed. Prognosis isn't great and his necrosis continues on his tail, even after getting part of the tip amputated a few months ago. I appreciate the support on here. I am considering overnight hospitalization and hydration...

Pseudo-gout (veiled chameleon) - any hope?

Hi, all! My male veiled chameleon is 5 years and 4 months old - he was diagnosed by a reputable vet as having pseudo-gout this summer. He had some random "bumps" around a couple of his joints and on his tail months ago. Since this spring, he's undergone a biopsy of his bumps (they're fluid sacs...

Jungle Dawn LED Bars do *not* have bulb replacements?

Okay, so I realized my LED bar was slightly unplugged, which is why it went out. HOWEVER, both the vendor I bought them from AND Arcadia said they have a 1 year warranty. This is how I got a hold of Arcadia, if you want it: [email protected]

Jungle Dawn LED Bars do *not* have bulb replacements?

Hi, Cham Fam! My Jungle Dawn LED bar just went out (purchased in 2020) - I just need a sanity check that these bulbs within the bar are NOT replaceable? This is the one I got for my plants... https://www.reptilebasics.com/led-reptile-lighting/jungle-dawn-22-34-watt/ If the bulbs can not be...

    Grain mites prevention

Hi, Cham Fam! I read a number of threads on here and wanted to summarize better upkeep of my feeders (namely, the superworms) because I am *fingers crossed* on the other side of an awful mite (most likely: grain mites) infestation when I got back home this past week after a few days away. I...

    Getting rid of springtails

I also see the bugs on the bug containers, also. Just everywhere.

    Getting rid of springtails

I checked the plants inside the enclosure and I see little bugs in the wet soil... I think these are okay? No bugs crawling on the leaves or branches inside the enclosure. I trashed the plants outside the enclosure bc a couple I was growing under the plant light, including a couple succulents...

    Getting rid of springtails

No, no hopping. They could be mites?

    Getting rid of springtails

I think I have spring tails all over a non-bioactive enclosure. They're all over where I keep the roaches and the enclosure outside. Is this a concern? I don't want them to infest my apartment. Can I wipe down the area with Clorox wipes? How do I get rid of them?

Woke up this morning and found this moth at the bottom of the enclosure. What kind of moth? Where did it come from?

He ate it, but first he took a wing or something out of it 😬

Woke up this morning and found this moth at the bottom of the enclosure. What kind of moth? Where did it come from?

Yeah, it scared the crap out of me when I saw it first thing in the morning. Never thought I'd see the hornworms transform. My veiled didn't eat it today, so we'll see tomorrow...
