1. Temp drop is good for chams. You would want to add a night heater if the heat drops below 55F. 2. I have plants and have never had problems with mites, and I don't do anything special to prevent them.

Sperm Plugs are when male chams release sperm randomly. Sometimes they get caught and you have to pull them out.They release them when they go through puberty.

I take the cage out probably once ever 3 or 4 months and really hose it off well. In fact, I just did that today ;) I use a 2:1 vinegar to water solution to sanitize anything. Bleach would be fine as long as your rinse it of very well.
