i was worried about that...i washed them and haven't had any problems..plus my chams drink off the leaves and not the bamboo..i also have the bamboo situated below most of the leaves so that they don't drip onto the leaves and end up in my guys' tummies.

i found some at AC Moore. they have a variety. other similar-type stores should have them too (michael's, etc.)

dubias are easy, and all i have experience with. it's simple and there's plenty of instruction on the internet regarding care/breeding..silkworms are harder to breed, so i don't do that. crickets are smelly, labor-intensive, prone to death, and cheap at the pet store, so I don't breed them...

i also do a lot of misting...lights on at 9, first mist is 15 mins at 10, second mist is 15mins at 1, 3rd mist is five minutes at 5. i agree that misting for longer periods stimulates drinking..i also had to build quite a drainage system, but it's really worth it.

mine threatens me, but never bites..probably cuz i threaten him back :):D
