    mister in flex

The Habba Mist does NOT provide a fine mist, it provides a spray, and has a VERY small water holder. You can order it off the Petsmart website and I think it has free shipping, if you hate it you can return it to a local store. I also found it a pain to mount and ours leaked...but several people...

    Shedding Questions

Is it suggested to warm water soak Chameleons? :confused:We do this with our Rankin Beardie, it seems to help the shed go more smoothly and he seems more comfortable.

    New Here

What about adding cork bark half way up or down a couple walls? What about using a humidifier? These are two ideas I have read before, go under the search mode and enter "humidity". I have read a lot of people say the 10.0 is too strong. Go with 5.0 perhaps it also won't be so drying. Also...

    Hydration Problem

I was wondering if it is recommended to "soak" the chameleon, supervised of course. At regular intervals, we do this with our Rankin Beardie when he in brumation to keep him hydrated. If so what temp should the water be and how deep is suggested?

    Hydration Problem

What about placing a shallow container (like a plant saucer, shallow cat food dish etc.) at the base of the plant where the water collects so she can do what she is comfortable doing to obtain her moisture without ingesting dirt. You could even add a few large smooth aquarium rocks so she can...

New to Chameleon Keeping -- best starter species?

From the information i have gleaned from searching this forum it appears that the two most recommended "starter chams" are the panther and the veiled. Both require about a 2'x2'x3' MINIMUM size enclosure, and of course the actual recommendations are to err on the even larger size for the...

    Ankaramy

Kinyonga. Thank you. :D You are very helpful. I appreciate the resources you listed. In the books I have read they offer minimal explanation as compared to the Nosey Be locale. I am awaiting replies from a few breeders I have directly contacted. I was surprised that a few breeders do not deal...

    Ankaramy

We are still researching Panthers. And love all of them but are especially drawn to the Ankaramy. Then of course I am reading they are the most fragile of the Panthers. Anyone have experience to share with these beauties? Are they more fragile because they are smaller? Or if...

Not eating enough, on the ground

If I am right the darker coloration can also mean stressed in general. Maybe someone can comment on how to tell when a Cham is readying to shed. In our other reptiles they begin to not eat as much for a couple days and their skin looks dull and then almost takes on a white sheen just prior...

Not eating enough, on the ground

:) I hear ya. We literally checked every square inch of our enclosures and our reptiles and our 3 boys used it to make sure the crickets, worms etc. were at the proper temps:) I was just wondering if there was a way to check the air temp by averaging a certain number of readings or something...
