    Bucket water heater safe?

I think for the most part water heaters are a waste of time. If you think of it, for water to stay warm has to be consolidated or in a container. This is why water heaters do work to heat the water in a reservoir. However, most misters pray such fine droplets of water that any heat that is...

Be ware fellow breeders! Keep all your receipts the IRS is after us!

Just playing devils advocate, I think you hit on a reason why the IRS wants to classify this as a hobby. To many people will claim things just to get a tax break. Since Chams come from far off countries, I could see someone stating a trip to those countries is a "business" expense and try and...

    We're all 'shed-ing' these days...

Thats cool that you can do this for your reptiles, but I can't help feel a bit sad that they will be further away and that access to them will be much less convenient especially in inclement weather. :( Perhaps this can be the new guest room instead, after all the Chams are family, not guest...:p

    Meet Cobalt!

Not sure if anyone answered this, but if you mean water in the bottom of his enclosure, this is a big No-No. Standing water can cause respiratory issues and is a cesspool for bad stuff to grow! Water on plants is fine.(y)

    Meet Cobalt!

Ahh, to be young and "green" in the ways of cham husbandry again... LOL, I just came across this thread. Not sure how I missed it. I'm no pro, but I can feel your anxiety and understand the rational behind the questions your asking. There is a learning curve to this, and I don't...

    Info about the Mistking

The MistKing manual clearly states that you should not unscrew the nozzles and that they are set/ fixed from the factory. I'd be a bit leary turning the nozzles. Out of the box my nozzles were just fine. http://online.fliphtml5.com/jrle/oqmi/#p=18

Crickets and vacuums...the transfer game that went bad.

Hmm, great ideas but I have limited space and using a tub present it's own issues when it comes to feeding. My current setup I just slide the tube out of the keeper and shake what I want into a small container (an empty plastic powdered drink container) and add my Calcium plus. I then stir...

    Looking for Dubia Feeders

Thanks to all for the responses. I did see your post Andee, but a few things set me back and I did not have sufficient privileges to post on that thread for some reason. Your post said (in part): 50 Mixed Dubia nymphs (I can also focus on certain size ranges you want) - $10.00 100 mixed...

How do you guys feel about...

I'm on the fence over this topic. I have a heart, and love these and all animals and when I see them in less than adequate conditions like at big box pet stores, my first reaction is to save it. The logical side side of me kicks in about 1 second later and tells me be all I'll be doing is...

    Looking for Dubia Feeders

Anyone here have a reliable, clean source for Dubia's? I need to find an alternate source as my primary (Josh's frogs) does not appear to have anything larger than 1/4" for sale these days. I'm wanting Sherman to step up to 1/2" size Dubia's but have not seen them available on the Josh's Frog...

    Automatic or manual?

Auto will free you up and be much more convenient than manual misting. You really have to have the best devotion ever to hand mist. This means being able to be home 3-5 times a day to mist (no job) and no vacations unless you have someone you absolutely trust who also has no life. Best...

    Eating Dubia's

Since I introduced Dubia's, Sherman snubs his nose at crickets. He eats them when he's hungry enough. I have been finding Dubia's much easier to care for and maintain than even crickets. I should have had my camera out, I caught him eating Dubia's upside down. They are silly little things...
