They certainly look like Mulberry leaves, and from the picture I would say the tree looks to be a Weeping Mulberry as opposed to the wild Mulberry that we see more frequently.
Cheryl, Thank you for sharing. I am really sorry that things did not turn out better, even with all of the effort you made, but great job trying. Although the exact cause may not be determined, at least the photos and information you shared prompted feedback from many knowledgeable members...
She certainly could lay again from the first mating. Be sure to keep her laying bin in her cage in case she does. I generally give my females a break after laying clutch and do not remate so quickly.
I too think she is probably just getting to know her new home...exploring all aspects of it. I have noticed that most of my juveniles go through an upside down phase at some point. I wouldn't worry unless you think she is going to get burned. How much time is she spending directly under the...
I've had veiled clutches go nearly 10 months, but I incubate at a lower temp. There is really no reason to handle the eggs at this point. Just check them weekly for proper humidity and to allow for fresh air exchange. You'll see some tiny beads of sweat when they are getting close. Good luck
Definitely sounds receptive based on colors and age. I have had several females lay an infertile clutch after their first receptive color showing, but I don't mate them until after 12 months of age. Your girl is becomming a woman.
I also have one female who flashes those same colors (for a...
I too have all of mine set from 8-8. I also have a few that get in their sleeping position about an hour earlier. I have observed that most of my chams take their cues from the natural sunset coming in the windows. Which means in the winter they are ready for bed much earlier than 8 pm (more...
Your little guy really does appear pretty sick. The most immediate problem is the dehydration as already discussed, but I would not hesitate to get him to a reptile vet as soon as possible. There could be other underlying problems that a good vet could diagnose. I agree that 90 is too hot for...
Like several of you we use themes for different groups.
Veiled...Syd, Vaughn, Nadia, Saark (Alias tv show)
Ambilobe...Vincent Van Gogh, Cammile Colbert, Auguste Renoir, Georgia O'Keefe (Artists)
Nosy Be...Huron, Catalina (Bodies of water)
Nosy Mitsio...Ataulfo (Yellow things)
I too would get her to a vet tomorrow. Getting back to the possibility of her being egg-bound...for future reference, 8 months is not too young for a veiled to produce eggs. I have heard of some who produced eggs as early as 6 months. Make sure she has a laying bin available at all times...
Yes, I agree do not give up. My current clutch layed on 6/9 just began hatching yesterday 2/5...nearly 9 months to the day! The clutch before this one from a different female also went exactly 9 months. I was told that if you end up wasting a few fruit fly cultures, you are doing it right...
