I went to repticon looking to learn some more about chameleons (had been reading on here for about 3 months), saw lots of veilds, and some very expensive young panthers. Left the show and I got a text from my friend of a what looked to be a sub adult panther asking if I had seen him, which I did not. I went back to the show the next morning and saw his cute self in a small plastic box :( I put my hand in front of him and he climbed on, he leaned over a little bit and was a bit leery of me, but didn't hiss or bite. He has a kink in his tail and a small amount of his tail missing. For $150 I took him and bought everything I needed to get him started home.
Knowing he was dehydrated and hungry I put him on a water drenched succulent plant in my kitchen sink, and he drank for over an hour like it was going out of style. Once he slowed his drinking down, I offered him some crickets, and he gobbled about 10 of them up, along with a couple meal worms.
I put him in his large enclosure and he immediately basked, then ventured down a vine and relaxed. He went right to sleep when his lights clicked off.
I've named him Chief, and here I will post daily or weekly picture of his progress and how he fills out. He desperately needs some good food to fill him up.
