My sister made me watch my niece.

When I wasn't watching the chameleon's tail got stuck in the cage... Now it's black where it was stuck and the rest of the tail is turning black... I can't get to a vet. I'm trying to get pictures.. I hate myself.

edit: It's not moving...

worst case, WORST CASE, the tail dies and falls off at that point. Odds are, that will not happen, they're tough. Get a better picture, though, in focus.

I'm trying to.. I feel so bad and I started crying... I need to find my camera I'm freaking out and scared...

He was sitting there for like 10 minutes falling off branches and I didn't realize because I had to watch my niece.. I feel so stupid.

Sorry for double posting...

He can move it a little bit but it's not looking that great.. he's sticking his tail out and it stays curved..

Dont worry its just a little pinch As eric said it will either fall of which by now it should have. But it looks to me like it will heal correctly just keep an eye on it and see how he uses it as the days go on :)

P.S dont hate yourself these things happen

Thanks.. I just feel so stupid for not have noticing him staying in the same spot falling off a branch for about ten minutes.. I figured he was having a bad day but I had to watch my niece and make sure she wasn't eating anything off my bed or the floor.. She's 6 months old. :\

Accidents Happen Syn, not the end the world. Looks like some minor surface damage and brusing only at this point, dont panic. Keep the chams viv warm (dont adjust up but dont let it drop too much) keep an eye on it, see how it goes!
Best wishes

Just checked on him, he lunged at me and did the death thrash at my glove.. His tail can curl up again so he can definitely move it. Things look a BIT better but the pinched part is still pretty black and the rest of the tail from the tip is darker.

It will be a few days, maybe even a few weeks before the brusing goes away. Just make sure they are still using it.

Oh, it doesn't look too bad. I've seen worse! Just get some antiseptic cream (SSD cream, probably form a vet if you dont' have it already - you should!), and pat it on the sore spot as he;s asleep at night. If he can move the tail beyond the injury, he shoudl have a full recovery, with nothing but an ugly little knot where the injury was.

That looks pretty bad to me, like the tail is broken where the indentation is. It may turn black ond fall off.

Well even with all the it'll get better, it looks fine except for bruising etc this has me worried..

He is using it, the coloring it a darker green but it looks better than earlier, to me.

A few hours afterwards...

edit: it's shiny from putting some medicine on it.
