Bump on or in eye turret!

My male has something in his eye, I have had him in my care for about a day now and it was there when I got him. Anyone have any suggestions? Is this hereditary? Will it go away? Does it need to be treated? Any help would be appreciated.

Howdy Clemonde,

About 4-5-6 months ago, my ~6yr-old Nosy Be' Panther had what appears to be the same thing. It came and went away in about a week. Right about the time that I was thinking of taking a photo of it, it was gone . I assumed that it was an existing bony structure that was not returning to its intended position. I gave it a little nudge but it didn't seem like it wanted to be moved.

Someone needs to find us a drawing of the chameleon's eye socket structure .

Isn't there a bony-like piece that can move around in that area? Anyway, all I can say for sure is that after it went away, it never came back into view (yet).

LOL perfect Dave, it is sort of bony and it can be moved around. I tried to sort of move it towards the outside and it didn't work so I didn't want to try again. I then gave him a nice mist for a long time and it didn't seem to take it away. I hope it goes away, it doesn't seem to be bothering him in any way and he continues with his every day life, but I would prefer it to not be there.

Thank you Jan I will be looking through that post in just a moment. Any other help would be great other than that I will just be waiting it out as Mr. Weldon mentioned.

If only I had a panther that had this same lump, I could show you exactly how to get it out. I have had this issue before, and I removed a waxy deposit, and it never came back. Check my description and recommendation here in this thread https://www.chameleonforums.com/any-guesses-what-30431/

Thanks Nicodemayo, your post was interesting, but im a little worried to go and mess with his eye like that. I will possibly give it a go tomorrow, ill keep you guys updated after but if it will go away by its self I would rather leave it lone and let his body handle it. I feel that is the best way to go.

Problem solved, well bump solved.:D After fidgeting with the bump I saw it was movable and then decided it is ok to take out. I made a video just don't know how to put it up. I then spread a bit of terramicen on the opening if his eye to prevent any type of infection. It all worked out great and he is happy as can be.

Check out the picks. The weird thing is he totally knows I helped him out and will choose to climb up on my hand at any given moment.
