The inhabitant of the Big Sky Vivarium is a Ambilobe male Panther.
The sire is named Star Gazer (Fantara-makara) F10-CG14
The morher is Miss Universe. (Mandiso-ranoray) F10-CG14
A celestial pairing for sure.
My panther was born into this Cosmic Country on July 4, 2026. He arrived after his first or second flight into Montana from California. He landed on September 11! For nearly a month he was noted as UNL ( Un-Named-Lizard) in my field notes book.
My own father suggested something to do with the Fouth of July, Independence Day or something patriotic. Being born on 7/4 and introduced to his forever home on 9/11.
My son made the connection between Patriot and Patrick…as the first letters of these names both begin with Patri…
I personally wanted to name him after a Phish (the band from Vermont
️). For weeks I also called him My Friend My Friend (a phish song title).
After weeks of deliberation we arrived at My Friend My Friend Patrick (Jane) F11-My other son is a fan of a show called The Mentalist with a character named Patrick Jane.
The Malagasy name is Namako Tia-tanindrazana (my friend the patriot who loves his country)
He is a beautiful lizard and I had no idea how much I would love him. It’s been fascinating to watch him grow.
Hold my binoculars and watch my lizard. I sit in my coffee chair and watch him with binoculars from across the room so I don’t stress him out.
