I fed Swyft six medium crickets today. Today was dusting with D3 and I marked it on the calendar in the room by his cage.
I waited until this afternoon to feed him as I tallied up his intake yesterday and he had a total of 10. (small, and fed in increments through the day, but still.) He was being super friendly in that he walked out immediately onto my hand, as if he had always done so his entire life. Wow! He stayed on my hand to eat and it took everything I had not to jump when he accidently let a cricket out. He had grabbed two and one got away. Oh and another moment that I was sure some cricket parts were going to land on me. He had grabbed two and this time was holding on to them but one was coming out each side of his mouth. I was scared to death he'd bite down and there would be a cricket part on me. I'm really not sure I could have handled that, EW EW EW. But I just kept telling myself to hold still and it didn't happen, whew.
Later when the one cricket that dropped had run around and showed itself, I got on him on video snatching it up with his tongue. Very quick short video but I got it! Threw it on facebook, doubt everyone on my friends list will really appreciate it (eww factor) but too bad, I think its cool!
He is basking right now which surprises me as I think its hot in here. Its 84 and I turned on the room AC in the adjoining room. I turned on the ceiling fan in his/computer room for just a bit to keep it breathable for me. Humidity has been steady 40ish for quite awhile now, I like that. I know its the minimum but at least I now know it isn't dropping below that.
