Wild insects

Can chameleons pretty much eat any wild insects that i catch?

No. Some bugs are poisonous, some sting, many bite (with or without venom), etc.
Ants are not recommended (highly acidic, and some have venom, all bite, and they all have friends - which can swarm/kill a cham)

i dont know if i would introduce ants to its enclosure. i know alot of people who have troubles getting rid of them.

Fireflies and lady bugs are toxic. Lots of other insects are too. Part of it depends on what they eat. Ants contain formic acid...so they should not be used either. Some of the caterpillars have sharp hairs and some of the grasshoppers have sharp things on their legs. There is also the possibility that your chameleon could pick up parasites from WC insects.

However, on a positive side...some of them might be very good for your chameleons.

Lady bugs, fire flies. And some wont give spiders because they can bite, and all spiders are toxic. Moths, butterflies, grasshoppers, crickets, (grey small little insects , dont know the name in english). They are ok. Some give them wasps but i wouldnt if they sting..
Fruitflies, house flies are ok.

But i would stick to feeders that are raised in captivity (no parasites).
E.g. Crickets, Hornworms, Super worms, Locust, King meal worms. etc

wild caught insects can also have pesticides on them. i know they just sprayed our town with pesticide for our mosquito problem, so that could really land on any insect. and any of your neighbors could have sprayed fertilizer or weed killer on their lawns, etc.....
