Who has a 'Blue Turquoise' or 'Ambato' Panther

I'm curious to see more pics of these guys. I've seen the pics from here, but any more would be great. Is anyone breeding some of these? I'd love a male. The pics I'm posting are just taken from this site. Thanks to the orignal posters!

Actually, no, they're not Ambanjas. Blue Diamond is a designer name but they come from Ambato. The photo on the left is my photo. I took the photo in Ambato which is an area in Northwest Madagascar near Ambanja that has F. pardalis that show this type of coloration. They tend to only have blue, maroon, yellow and white and lack red radiations in the eye turrets. Here is another thread with info on them: https://www.chameleonforums.com/pics-all-panther-locals-8970/

PS: You should really get into the habit of giving credit to the photographer and asking their permission before you repost their photos. It wouldn't be difficult to just link to the original thread.

Here is a map of this part of Madagascar. You can see Ambanja on the mainland, the large island of Nosy Be, the island of Nosy Faly and right next to it, on the tip of the peninsula, you see Ambato. This is the area where the Blue Diamonds/Turquoise Blues come from.

Wow, that is very cool. That is a great photo Chris, and thank you for clearing up the confusion!

Chris, since you mentioned Ankaramy....I heard talk of splitting the Pink panther morph into several distinct locality-types since they come from such a large area (at least south of Ankaramy and covering the entire Anpasindava Peninsula to the west also) and apparently show regional variations across the range. Have you heard anything about this with our European counterparts?

Edit: And, ain't Sirama a plantation rather than an actual village or town?

Kent,

No, I'd not heard anything about that to be honest. I've seen a couple photos of pardalis from Nosy Radama which look like Ankaramy from the photos I've seen but I've not seen any differential regard to other "Ankaramy" types. I've not kept up well on the European or Asian forums as much lately as I should though.

What does a Nosy Radama look like? I love Ankaramys, I'm curious about this one. Do you happen to have a photo handy? I looked around a little and wasn't able to find one.

There isn't much commuting in Madagascar so I imagine most of those working the Sirama plantations have to live in some type of village right there or nearby...

Good point.

Those Nosy Radama seem more red than the normal Pink type panther, no? Also, did you happen to look at all the males on his Ambanja page??

Yeah, they do look more red in the pics then typical Ankaramy but I couldn't say if its just the camera or if its true to the animals.

The Ambanjas on the site look questionable in their purity if I had to make an assessment...

To say the least. For such an obvious looking locale as the Ambanja-types are, does that say anything about an individual's credibility when it comes to displaying such a specific locality as Nosy Radama? I'm just asking for the sake of accuracy as I've never seen any photos actually from that island.

I've never seen any other photos or heard anything else of the locale so your guess is as good as mine. I'm not ready to add it to my list of legit locales just yet though!
