WC Female wont lay eggs

I posted before about a WC nosy faly panther female I recieved that I thought was gravid, she wasnt then but is very much so now. She was never receptive or mated while in my care.

About 4 weeks ago I noticed she was getting even larger than she was and I could feel a hard lump above her hind legs. I took her to the vet and xrays confirmed she was carrying eggs, poorly calcified, unordered, and about full size. I let her go one more week, and another xray. The eggs moved more into lines, and were brighter white. After that xray she was put on calcium glu every other day in hopes to further calcify the eggs and induce contractions. The hard lump I was concerned about never showed in either xray, each time was actually 3 views.

Since the second xray, she has been housed in a large garbage can with about 8-10 inches of moist sand. The decorations have changed, at first it was just two sticks, but as it appeared to be more long term I added a small umbrella plant. Her appetite has decreased, but she is still eating.

For the last week and a half she has spent all day pacing the floor of the can, but no holes. No attempts at holes, Ive dug test ones that she fills in when she walks over them. She its totally secluded in the room she is in, no distractions at all.

I plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow, another xray and some oxytocin. I've never had a female take this long before, but I know she has alot of eggs, I counted about 35. She is getting thinner, as far as fat stores, face and tail, but still quite active and agressive. Should I give her a lil longer before using the oxytocin, or is it time?

After 6 hours with my vet today we got 31 eggs. She was given fluids and calcium in the morning, about an hour later a dose of oxytocin. The eggs came shortly after. Contractions stopped after 13 eggs. Another dose of oxytocin was given, another 18 eggs were deposited. After her contractions stopped from the second dose, an xray was taken, seemed to show more eggs. Couldn't detect them via palpation, but one more dose of oxytocin was given. She didn't lay any more with the third dose. Im presuming the eggs that were seen on the xray may be from another clutch that is not yet ready to be laid. Which I'm not thrilled about given the trouble so far...

The eggs look to be in good shape, smooth, white, no dents, and of average size. One or two are larger than the rest but not by much. Now to keep the fingers crossed they dont mold over, still unsure if they are indeed fertile.

Anyway I thought Id share some of the many xray's I had taken of her.

The dates on the xrays are as follows:

-Pics 1,2,3 are from 3/12/2010

-Pics 4,5 are from 3/19/2010

-Pics 6,7 are from 4/12/2010, after 2 doses of oxy, same xray just magnified

Hey, thank you for this! It's very enlightening. I'm sorry you and your chameleon had to go through it, but I'm sure lots of owners will benefit from your posts.
