ZooMed lighting

Hey I was wondering what your guys's thoughts are on the ZooMed dual UV and heat dome combination thing. It is the perfect size for the enclosure I have and looks quite convenient. I am getting it as a part of a kijiji deal with a breeder that comes with the enclosure, lights, dripper, plants etc. I have heard the metal inside can burn a chameleons eyes and that it is best to only use the ceramic ones. He has lived with this light since he was 3 months old and I would like to know if it completely necessary to purchase a new set of lights that do not have metal insides.

This was the first one I bought when I got my Cham. I think it works fine. I'm eventually upgrading to a nice QUAD setup from lightyourreptiles.com but this is a good starter. In fact, I have it on two of my smaller cages as well.

Zoo Med T5 HO

We recently switched our UVB strip lighting to Zoo Med T5 HO fixtures. Very pleased with the quality as it is a great "bang for the buck" fixture/light. You can get a 24" fixture with lamp for less than $50 from Pet Mountain.
