Hi im just needing some help when breeding my chameleons a tried yesterday and this is what happened
i put the female (2yrs old) with my male (4yrs old) the male was up for it going in to a bright sun burst colour and the female well hissing and going for him put her colour was green and little bule spots so after that the male got on top of her but the wrong way round and it looked like she submitted but when he was turning around to get in the correct position she started to hiss and go for him again then the went on one of the jungle vines then stopped for 5 mins again he was still a sun burst colour but when he moved to go behind her she went black spotted with black strips on her about 4 of them and she was still a green colour.
Can anybody give me any advice.

I would not put her back in the enclosure.....maybe hold her out in front of it for a while where she can see your male and if she hisses then she's not ready.

Hissing and gaping means that she wants nothing to do with your male. You can show her to you male everyday if you choose too but just the sight of the male could cause her to start forming an infertile clutch or she may already have an infertile clutch and if that's the case, that's way she doesn't like him.

Ok she met him on monday for the first time but didnt hiss but yesterday she did ill try today then leave it for a comple of days. i take her to him and his tank is 4ft both ways it has nothing to do with that does it.

I would not leave her with him unattended. He could kill her. When is the last time she laid a clutch? Was it fertile? You could also try not in a cage like on a large plant or tree.

She had a clutch at the shop where i got her from which was fertile they said she is good for breeding still in the future but this i the problem she has never had a clutch with me but their is always a moist box with moss in all the time and she dosent look big at all cause you can tell around the ribs if she is carrying and this was the first time she has seen a male since she has been in te pet shop,

Okay i will but ive done everything the shop says that i got her from and i showed them the laying box they said thats okay. oh will u tell me how to post a picture cause im new at this
