Wrapping sides

Hi all - you might have seen my first post about acquiring my new & first chameleon this month. Right now, he's in a Zoo Med Repti Breeze cage, so it's all screen. For a short-term solution, I attached a dark towel to 2 sides of the cage. But, this isn't going to fly for long...the water goes through and for some reason it just doesn't feel right lol.

I've seen that some people cut and wrap with shower curtain. My questions about this:
-How do you attach it so it actually stays? Duct tape? Command hooks?
-Is it safe considering the heat? Will it melt?
-How often/should it be cleaned?
-What type (liner, fabric...whatever else there is)

Plain ol plastic with or without a print. I use velcro tabs to attach it to the outside of the cage. I don't put it near the lights so it doesn't melt. If it does your basking light is too hot. Dust as necessary.

I use a painter's dropcloth and duct tape on the sides. The duct tape also catches any roaches that might have escaped
